They wouldn't know how to drive a car if there life depended on it especially a stick shift I think thats why they change all the cars to automatic other wise there would be a car pileup at every corner. i knew how to drive a stick shift cense i was 12 :)

So this is a bit off topic but I'm glad to see that there is still such a thing as investigative journalism and that there's at least one news team out there that still knows how to do their job (instead of "news-acting", that thing all the anchors do nowadays where they sigh, raise their voice, pause, etc, when it is most appropriate to do so, and where they read off a prompter but don't actually do the investigations). a customer came to my shop and her serpentine belt was squeeling and making noise and the belt was had a bunch of cracks in it and she said that she just got it replaced recently like 10 days ago at jiffy lube...

@marcjtdc sorry about your experience. lots of good auto repair, dealers are hard to find. did you know that the auto repair & car dealerships are the biggest money makers & ripoffs in the world ? it's a huge business. i have friends who work for in the business. it's easy money. i.e an oil filter costs wholesale @ $ 2.00 each. to sell it to a consumer, $ 15.00 & up, in 1991 my car needed a new carbereuter for $ 333.00 w/ tax. most likely they paid $ 25.00 for it, etc. ****

advisor should show you what problems you may have on your car. keep a log on the work that was done. mechanics can be scam artists. Bad thing about customers though is that they don't have patience when they bring their car in to a service facility. they have a list of problems and expect diagnostics to be free and in less than an hour.Mechanics have bills too . remember motherfuckers.... WARRANTY COVERS DEFECT AND NOT DAMAGE DUE TO LACK OF MAINTENANCE. YOUR responsibility to take care of.

Go to an independent or a dealer that does NOT use a pit. I woked at a dealer with a pit and several vehicles left with no oil (they came back when the idiot lights went nuts), they didn't check air filters like they're supposed to, etc....

I worked for Jiffy Lube in Portland Oregon for 3 years. You are expected to sell $70.00 to every car on average. If you don't , they threaten and fire you. The only way you can average $70.00 a car is to scam the customers by selling them stuff they don't need. I would say 80% of stuff that's sold to customers , they don't really need.

Yes, never trust your car to Jippy Screw even for a simple oil change. Don't do it. Go to an indep. repair shop, make an appointment and get it done there. You'll save yourself much grief. These lube shacks have ruined perfectly good cars after botching oil changes, not to mention all the unneccesary crap they recommend on top of it.

I went to jiffy lube a few years ago and they convinced me to change my trans fluid when I didn't need it, topped my coolant with some shitty fluid and didn't bleed the air out. Had to spend more money to get it all fixed. Worst place to bring your car everyone

ya he was trying to blame it on someone else! My car was siezing up because the transmission fluid ran out and they claimed on paper that they checked all my fluids and they were all okay. When I called, they said they werent responsible for cars after they leave. This was in Manchester NH
