Both the Union and the Confederacy promised to grant all lands, food, and rights to tribes if they didn't involve themselves with the 'white man's war'. In fact concessions were granted to many tribes from the Union and we all know how that turned out. In any case, it's a very minor point for such a terrible war.

Both the Union and the Confederacy promised to grant all lands, food, and rights to tribes if they didn't involve themselves with the 'white man's war'. In fact concessions were granted to many tribes from the Union and we all know how that turned out. In any case, it's a very minor point for such a terrible war.

My families farm was in the South until the Mason Dixon Line was established. We owned many slaves at that point. But the next generation was part of the underground railroad. That's why the war dragged on 5 years. If the french had been only 2 weeks earlier in leaving France to back up the Confederacy, that war would have went a completely different way.

I'm not going to hate anyone. After the time that's passed, it's illogical to hate either side. I was born in Little Rock, AR, then we moved to Lake Havasu, AZ, then to Hollywood, CA, then Chicago, IL. There is no one place to live to be stupid. I promise, there are plenty of stupid people all over the world. And every one of them hates something for some stupid reason.

@Mallenaudrix Has anyone paid attention to the history books. The south succeeded because Lincoln wouldn't let slavery be expanded into new territory. Do you want slavery? If we take a broad look of the world's history, nearly EVERY nationality has been slaved. Do we want to go back to your time of bondage? Because you may think you're Southern first, but somewhere down the line you've got some Irish, or Italian. Or one of your great grandfathers slept with a slave?

@Mallenaudrix How much do you actually know about yourself? Enough to say you want every enslaved nationality to come back to fruition? I'm Irish and British. They hated each other, didn't they? But my mother and father had me. This is where you say, "Now that was so long ago! That doesn't count." Should I be pissed at "those damned Brits" or should I accept the fact, that the fighting is over. And be thankful I'm here to make happiness, not fan the flames. That's why I don't hate anyone.

@Mallenaudrix You are so right. No one wants to forget or disregard the past, but those who refuse to move on and get over their ancient grievances are making for themsellves a lifetime of aggravation and misery.

In a mixed up world there are still a few of us "Southern Born and Bred" . We will not forget.! We will not regret! We will not apologize!! You can fly any flag and be accepted by American society, except the Confederate battle flag!. America is being overrun by foreign parasites from "south of the border" and you liberals are standing with open arms and kissing brown ass!!...If the boys in gray had prevailed , this would not be happening!! At least not south of the Mason-Dixon line.
