  • I appreciate the project a lot as well as the whole one laptop per child initiative. There is only one thing I am worried about: Will children all over the world be forced to learn in English and in the long run loose an important part of their culture (i.e. their language)? I know the software sugar which runs on the xo and wich is customisable to many languages with ease. Yet in this video the children and adults as well talk English, and thus I wonder about the primary language at school.

  • @edaktik - Thanks for your comments. In Uganda, local languages are used to teach grades 1-3. Beyond that, all classes and government exams are in English, as this is the official language of the country. The classes shown in the vidoe 4 and 5. I appreciate your concerns, however, we found that the laptops actually gave the students a new and exiting way to learn English and will ultimately make them better students. For these students, any way to practice your English is a good thing.

  • you guys are saints this will give so much fun and education to little kids
