Well I would agrue, and lot of people in our area would agree, that Shawns solution is not the proper solution. There are those working towards a peaceful solution, Shawn is not one of them. And as far as being in the same situation, I would say that if shawn gets his way, there will be thousands of people who will feel as if they were robbed of their land just the same as Shawn feels now.

I dont know that there are any quick and easy solutions to the land claim issue. The people of Deseronto and Tyendinaga township have had a stong sense of community for over 150 years. The canadian government taking land from one group to please another group is not the answer. (the water in Tyendinaga township is no more potable than that on the reserve)...

Blocking the road is not a form of violence. but attacking people with a spear is, and its this form of indimidation and violence which cannont under any cirmcumstance be accepted as a form of protest. Violence breeds further violence and anyone in the area is well away that this land claim disupute is a powder keg waiting to go off.

Further on the water concer,it is an embarassment that in a developed country there are communities who experiance the same struggles of a third world nation
