I think you're overreacting. We haven't even seen any game footage yet. Besides, he didn't actually say that the game would be extremely dumbed down, and just because he wants the game to appeal to new players, that doesn't mean necessarily mean that the game will be dumbed down.
Zelda's one of Nintendo's greatest franchises. And they haven't disappointed yet, so I bet the new game will be awesome too.

Lower difficulties have fewer enemies, easier puzzles, weaker enemies, and less extras, the hardcore gamers can select the harder difficulties, and all Zelda games (besides NES and CD-i) were easily accessable to casual gamers! How much simpler can you get? You can play a Zelda game with 3 buttons and a Dpad if you must! (A,B, Start, sometimes Select, but Zelda 1 didn't need select.) The 3D Zeldas are the easiest controlled action adventures I ever played.

I agree with you but it's been dumbed down. I can easily go through the newer legend of zelda games in 2-3 days no guides, but some of the originals took me forever. Games like Phantom hourglass I beat in 1 day with 3 hearts, and Windwaker I did with the hero suit and the lobster shirt in 3 days. Twilight Princess took me 4 days to beat. And I found all but one heart piece in Minish cap in 2 days. I'm not saying I don't like the games anymore I just want them to be harder.
twighlight princess is alright. It has a real ocirana/ majora's mask feel to it. windwaker/ phantom hour glass I cant really get into. something about them turns me off. also I agree with you about minish cap.

Use of the wiimote does not mean "bad". It has been done well. Incorporating Wii motion plus could be the difference between a wagglefest and a wonderful game, and Miyamoto just made it mandatory for the next zelda. So don't give up all hope. Why should Nintendo make Zelda too easy when the masses are perfectly happy buying other, more cheaply produced casual games, ie wii play, wii ski, etc? No, if Nintendo is actually putting effort into this (it's from '06, people, they are!) it'll be good.

im thinking that nintendo will realese the new LOZ in 2011 cause they didnt show any trailers to it at all so far... if they show a trailer of the new LOZ with gameplay than estimate time:1-1.5 years more into completion, if they show no gameplay but a trailer than its taking 2-2.5 years for them to make, plus this videos evidence that its going to be delayed and such ( 3:11). god of war 3 is a perfect example of this since in 2008 E3:trailer no gameplay, 2009 E3:trailer+gameplay.

Nintendo isn't going to dumb down Zelda. They know they can't alienate the LoZ fan base because it is such a huge source of income. There are ways of making something more accessible to non-hardcore gamers without dumbing them down. But we'll just have to wait and see. Freaking out about it isn't going to change anything.
If they actually do dumb down Zelda, along with the rest of their titles, they will be very screwed. The only way to dumb it down any further is to make the game play by itself.

If it is a port, then it's a GC game. It doesn't matter which came first, the GC version is the original, since in it, Link is left handed. The Wii version is mirrored, so Link is right handed... Making it the port. Twilight Princess is a GC game, period.

Reason being: Zelda isn't a hard game, you press 'A' and move around. But there's this IDEA that Zelda has an upper echelon fanbase. That if you're not familiar with the game you can't play it.
Nintendo is thinking all economics right now. By stating that the game will be completely different, this allows new gamers to jump in. And by pushing the fact that it will be easy, again, they can appeal to more people. Nothing will change, aside from how people might view the franchise.
You musn't forget the PR aspect of Zelda. At a business standpoint, they want to appeal and sell to as many customer's possible; THIS BEING SAID, it's very likely that Nintendo will advertise the game for new gamers, while in reality, keep the game formula and principle intact.
If they make this game "casual", i might just lose my faith in nintendo. I WANT A REAL< EPIC< sequel.if they take away ANY of the difficulty of the puzzles, i will protest. this "casual gaming" thing has gone TOO FAR.
In my opinion, the game controls in the LoZ franchise is flawless, I got the hang of it in a day. It isn't that hard to master, it's not like Tekken where you have to master combos. And delays, yes it may happen like last time *cough cough*. There might be a chance that they rushed the production, thus a disappointing storyline.
As a hardcore gamer, I honestly am bothered with Nintendo's current approach with making everything more accessible. More over, its the third party developers that flood the Wii with one shit game after another because they fail to take the platform seriously.
All casual gamers, at some point or another, ascend closer to a hardcore standing. Nintendo doesn't need to simplify franchise titles for them. If its appealing enough, those gamers will take the time to improve their playing skill.

Twilight Princess was still reasonably challenging on the Wii and a good game-following closely to OoT. I'm replaying MM as well.
As far as new Zelda games go i either want the story to be:
A sequel to TP
A prequel to OoT
or a sequel to AoL or as it would be called Zelda III

Use of the wiimote does not mean "bad". It has been done well. Incorporating Wii motion plus could be the difference between a wagglefest and a wonderful game, and Miyamoto just made it mandatory for the next zelda. So don't give up all hope. Why should Nintendo make Zelda too easy when the masses are perfectly happy buying other, more cheaply produced casual games, ie wii play, wii ski, etc? No, if Nintendo is actually putting effort into this (it's from '06, people, they are!) it'll be good.

im thinking that nintendo will realese the new LOZ in 2011 cause they didnt show any trailers to it at all so far... if they show a trailer of the new LOZ with gameplay than estimate time:1-1.5 years more into completion, if they show no gameplay but a trailer than its taking 2-2.5 years for them to make, plus this videos evidence that its going to be delayed and such ( 3:11). god of war 3 is a perfect example of this since in 2008 E3:trailer no gameplay, 2009 E3:trailer+gameplay.

Nintendo isn't going to dumb down Zelda. They know they can't alienate the LoZ fan base because it is such a huge source of income. There are ways of making something more accessible to non-hardcore gamers without dumbing them down. But we'll just have to wait and see. Freaking out about it isn't going to change anything.

How is it even possible to make Zelda a bad game? Or will it go through the same process as Sonic. No adventure, all about fighting others (in Zelda would that be: "No dungeons, no great weapons and attacks, just about swinging with your WII remote without a goal"). If it is a port, then it's a GC game. It doesn't matter which came first, the GC version is the original, since in it, Link is left handed. The Wii version is mirrored, so Link is right handed... Making it the port. Twilight Princess is a GC game, period.

Reason being: Zelda isn't a hard game, you press 'A' and move around. But there's this IDEA that Zelda has an upper echelon fanbase. That if you're not familiar with the game you can't play it.
Nintendo is thinking all economics right now. By stating that the game will be completely different, this allows new gamers to jump in. And by pushing the fact that it will be easy, again, they can appeal to more people. Nothing will change, aside from how people might view the franchise.

In my opinion, the game controls in the LoZ franchise is flawless, I got the hang of it in a day. It isn't that hard to master, it's not like Tekken where you have to master combos. And delays, yes it may happen like last time *cough cough*. There might be a chance that they rushed the production, thus a disappointing storyline.

As a hardcore gamer, I honestly am bothered with Nintendo's current approach with making everything more accessible. More over, its the third party developers that flood the Wii with one shit game after another because they fail to take the platform seriously.
All casual gamers, at some point or another, ascend closer to a hardcore standing. Nintendo doesn't need to simplify franchise titles for them. If its appealing enough, those gamers will take the time to improve their playing skill.
