Garth Brooks introduced LeAnn's performance, and I remember sitting in the living room in amazement. I'd been a fan of hers since the Blue music video came out. When she hits the high notes at 3:16, I don't know if anyone besides Martina could sing that part as good as she did. When I was a kid, I dreamt I was slow dancing with her to her version of the song in a school gymnasium. Had her picture on my wall, was a huge fan.

Is this sing-by-numbers? I love Leann Rimes but not with this song. She hits the notes well and sings it well, technically. What made this song great, though, was the soul of it - and she put none of that into her version. She even looks bored singing it. What a shame, she could easily have carved herself a piece of this song's history if she put her own inflections and emotions into the melody instead of doing a technical copy.
