Since I already had scrap wood and no 6" hoops, I started the job you see at 1:09-1:32 in subtitles. * measuring, marking and cutting holes with drill and jigsaw was not included in the description, but that is what I did. Make sure the bolts aren't too long & has enough threading exposed. Also the "rim" should allow the head to resonate.

If one were to actually get a 6" hoop and find a way to attach it, that might work but the diameter of the pvc directly under the head is not wide enough. You would have to build the surface up with something. I never did experiment further with it yet.
