she is by far the best female musician and thats just my opinion :) she is lovley and perfect. i admire her heaps. too bad 'callous' hasnt been put up on you tube, that song is one of my favourites.
I have lived in Buffalo most of my life (and rather disliked it, truth be told.) To have a cool, interesting woman like her grace this city, casually making a great mark on the music scene (for 20 years and counting) is something Western New York can truly be proud of.
Ani is among the great poets and performers of our time. We're lucky she's around and as prolific and energetic as she is. I hope she paces herself, enjoys her life, and will continue to grace us with her presence and genius for many years to come. Thank you Ani!
Maybe people just don't understand literature and poetry analysis and don't look at things from a broader perspective. Sometimes songs are best when dissected and picked apart, when they are obscure and need thinking. When people can take them however personal they want to and mold them into their own, really. That is the beauty of lyrics like Ani's. They allow room for interpretation. They are meant for the poetic souls wanting more than rhymes in their songs.
exactly, now when you are a little older and have some more perspective and experience you might understand what this song is about. She's saying that just as we nourish our bodies, we need to nourish our hearts.
Ani is amazing. 'nuff said.

Just ignore this drwierd troll. He goes on all the Ani videos to cause problems. If you don't give them any attention they'll go away.

I love the sound of the bass really popping it near the end which is different from the original track.

Is she playing a "tenor" "upright bass"?

I think it's a Harmony tenor guitar...not really a bass though.
