Now here's a question -- Beaucaire smiles a bit around 2:52. What do people think --is this a smug smile, meant to indicate Beaucaire is still too much of a courtier, that he's thinking "ha, I knew she couldn't resist me long"? Or am I misreading it?
I love how so many women in Valentino's films look away after kissing him, as if they're thinking, "Oh yikes, this guy might make me lose control of myself."
It's great visual shorthand and perfectly believable given Valentino's slightly dangerous appeal :-)
Yeah, well I'm glad she was basically the only one who thought they were utter trash. They were excellent as long as he was in them. One of the most handsome men I've ever seen, and an outstanding actor and beautiful human being.
