I love that that is bad enough weather to not go to work in. I live in Maine and that is just wow. I want to live in the UK, but I am not sure how much I like the idea of living in a place that it snows so infrequently that people go crazy when it does snow. Not that I am saying you did of course, your video was great ^__^ Okay now I am just babbling, sorry.

Well converse in it's conventional sense is always unique so it would make no sense for it to be a plural. A concept can't have two converse concepts.

If you want to be really strict about it, converse isn't a noun anyway, claiming that a conjecture has "a converse" is really just a shortening of claiming that it has "a converse conjecture"

In the case of the shoe I'd guess there's no super definite convention, since of course what he meant was Converse All Stars, and abbreviating it to Converse or Converses is non-cannon.

Oh and another thought: when you have a terms that's a verb and a noun together, and you drop the noun, the convention does seem to sometimes be to carry over the 's'.

e.g. white clothes -> whites, Olympic Games -> Olympics,

I feel your pain with the Converse in the snow. For about the past 4 winters, I've worn Converse all winter in -30 degree weather. This year I got boots. I highly recommend the boot route.
