They've build nuclear power plants close to the oceans, probably for minimizing devastation if accidents indeed, triggers, such that if it was a meltdown, half the area of effect would be covered by the sea, in which the least human lives are present. As compared to building, for say, in the city ? Then when meltdowns occur, it will affect more lives since its area affect covers total land; where humans live on

@MrPowerific nuclear plants are usually placed near bodies of water so they can be cooled efficiently using sea water, and who are we to say that Japan can't have nuclear plants. Yes, they should have thought about the possibility of a tsunami but logically those are the best places for a nuclear plant in Japan. I'm pretty sure those engineers and experts are a little more qualified than as far as your logic runs.

Since when are people sane?
From childhood on people start arguing, fighting, making other's lives miserable, making war. We humans polute this earth, causing nature to change, causing more and more intense hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamies. You better watch what you're doing yourself before pointing your finger at your Maker. Every time people are hurt, He's feeling it even more.
God also made a promise: Before this earth is destroyed by us, He'll come and make all things new.

i feel terrible for these people, i made a donation to help them.. but the big problem i have is why would you make a city on the coast when that area is on a fault line and prone to earthquakes.... someone made a really bad call on their part..

It doesnt matter what religion anyone is or wherever they come from..they need as much help as we can give them and just be thankful that you are able to make stupid comments on here, and you are not dead or caught up in this terrible thing. It makes you wonder why and how on earth can people be so ignorant to build nuclear power plants so close to harbors and the ocean, especially in such an earthquake and tsunami prone islands of Japan! Where is the logic in that? Like seafood? Just wait for the American prices to triple and the radioactive fish that do swim... one way or another, the American public will pay for this disaster as well. My condolences to all those innocent people that must pay for the greed of the wealthy.

@MrPowerific Hmm, good point, but they've never thought of earthquakes and tsunamis. They've build nuclear power plants close to the oceans, probably for minimizing devastation if accidents indeed, triggers, such that if it was a meltdown, half the area of effect would be covered by the sea, in which the least human lives are present. As compared to building, for say, in the city ? Then when meltdowns occur, it will affect more lives since its area affect covers total land; where humans live on

@MrPowerific nuclear plants are usually placed near bodies of water so they can be cooled efficiently using sea water, and who are we to say that Japan can't have nuclear plants. Yes, they should have thought about the possibility of a tsunami but logically those are the best places for a nuclear plant in Japan. I'm pretty sure those engineers and experts are a little more qualified than as far as your logic runs.
