thanks for the video.have been thinking a long time now(iam 40years old so not a rash decission lol)to learning the piano tuning art.its always had my interest +need a different direction in life.something i would actually enjoy,i have quite a good ear, playing guitar and bass 20+years and never need a tuner,i have very very basic piano skills, have a yamaha upright i mess about with..on average how long does it take to learn tuning(i understand its not simple and want to learn the right way)
@ridgebackdk Pactice makes perfect....Some say one does not become a 'piano tuner per se' until they have
tuned 1000 pianos....Whew.......Seriously, the best you can hope for is to practice as often and as much as possible....Learning to hear fundamentally and a good tuning arm technique is vital and will dispell much of doubt and anxiety....I didn't start tuning until my late thirties....Franklin
@4yoonxtr thank you so much for the reply.its just something that has always held my interest, good ear and the right touch and getting the feel of each piano is more or less how i have always pictured it,i do know its years and years of practice and i guess something you have to love and enjoy, and for me at this point in life thats more important,i doubt ill ever get rich tuning pianos haha but there is more to life than money.again thanks for your time and your insite best wishes:)
As a rule, this is a tough, reliable instrument that does well in classroom situations....The video was done a number of years ago so this piano is quickly nearing the final curtain call....It's literally worn out....Had a long a varied career....How do you like that big-ass steinway Keith Jarrett is playing on "Somewhere Over....?"Try is with headphones; gordeous instrument....Thanks for yhe comment....F
