  • Shit like this just proves there is always more to learn. Bass for life mofo!

  • Victor sounds so pacific ..

  • Ok...time for us white bass players to go back to the drawing board.

Amazing rythmic technique. There's a solid groove there!

  • sounds like rapid fire farts. sounds like shit.

  • Also the "yeah" at 0:41 was like yeah dude you will never be this good sorry

  • They're both so good that they need both of them to explain how good they are

  • where is the funking groovee dude????

  • @sixmanbass Mate, this is NOT a groove video! :) Bass's primary function has always been to support and groove, and that is still the case. Just because in a lesson environment we are choosing to focus on one particular skill, does not mean in the slightest that bass, or this musician isnt about the groove. Cheers!

  • @1BassJohn OK ;)

  • what bass is he using ?

  • @iConverseMyLife Fodera Basses, both of them.

  • @Suludom cheers mate :)

  • ohhh holy christ i just had a BASSGASM!!

  • that bass sounds kind of quiet? (no hate)

  • I need to know what model bass that Anthony Wellington is playing.

  • slap bass = disco

  • CRACKHEAD!

  • What is the motion for the bass slap on your fingers that aren't the thumb?

Are they both going just up and down? or is it a different rhythm?

  • wow... very technical, great lesson

  • wellington is like: "YOU will stop being White in seconds,i tell ya"!

  • Wellington has one deadly stare yeah haha

  • I've been to 3 videos of this workshop on youtube and I am curious to find out why it is always exactly "6" people who have disliked them all.. I mean, are you all in the same band or something?!!?

  • wish i had these guys as my bass tutors, self tought only gets you so far.

  • /watch?v=0qSMyJTZ6Vg lol

  • This would be my dream, to be having a lesson from Victor Wooten, my crazy little dream that would never happen.

  • @yoyoguy1st go to his workshops man! MY dream came true! make YOUrs happen too!!

  • @themacleodreynolds Don't they cost a ton of money? I doubt I would understand a single thing he was saying. Then I guessing they aren't really nearby me either.

  • @yoyoguy1st they do cost a fair ammount but it is nothing compared to the experience you have and its worth every penny and more. He explains everything in such a simple way that many "non-musicians" that were they understood. You should definatly look into it!

  • whyyy did this cut out so early? at least let Wooten finish his sentence! =(

  • 0:08

nerdy white guy - " if you turned off the volume you would be like, ok whatever "

Wellington - " Oh Bitch ! i know you didnt just say that bitch! "

  • that sounds like shit. WTF

  • @BelgianBass hahahahahahahahahaha!!

  • That's the biggest mind fuck I've ever encountered ._.

  • This is one of those techniques that can only be mastered when your instrument is properly set up.

One of the most telling things when meeting another bass player or guitar player is to try their instrument out and see how high their action is.

All you guys and girls with your strings an inch off the neck are never gonna be able to play like this. I'm not saying the strings have to lay on the frets, but ask yourself why you're fighting your instrument.

  • hmmmm. Not sure about that. Maybe I'm old fashioned but give me a pocket b-line any day. Leave the fast perc for the drummer/perc player. Clever tho.

  • the inner sssshhhtring

  • Even broken down I can't do it :/

  • Sounds soooooo much better slowed down

  • that's super cool, but why would you ever need to do that lol

  • @Punkrockzone Yes there is! I bought the Victor Wooten: Groove Workshop DVD from Guitar Center! They also have them online such as on Amazon.

  • "Ima kill that white boy"

  • Of course his playing is "BEEFY" thats what makes him Beef Wellington.

  • ok ... after this one you either give up guitar playing or play 24/7

  • i love anthony's thump tone. its so fuckin BEEFY. its awesome.

  • @pianolicious134 like a wellington, you might even say.

  • "ahhhhh (dindnt get it)" jajaja

  • very nice but no use in a band :P

  • @kasthebass dislike, u could use it in jazz for soloing. duhh

  • @Brian19451 As he said, no use in a band. Soloing in jazz is divorced from any kind of real song to me, its just musical masturbation.

  • LETAL

  • Yeah bro, im black so thats alot to chose from

  • i love when they are trying to explain somethin,,,always hiding something man nobody want to steal your line,,,,,,how can anyone learn from this ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • @duboko1 It's pure feeling you can't decide what note to hit next you got to feel it. You can never learn it only the techniques you gotta teach yourself your own rythm

  • slowly hehehe

  • freaking amazing.

  • percussiv bass FTW!!!

  • Anthony's bass in this video is my all time favorite Fodera. Wow.

  • 0:08 : Wellington decides to kill the white guy

  • @Colonelcouchpotato it's that look saying "after this is over I'll see you outside"

  • @Colonelcouchpotato That is hilarious!!!
