Health Care Reform and stronger controls upon corporations would help stop an oligarchy forming, while something like the Patriot Act (that Fox supported) prob brought the process forward by over a decade. Read both, though the Patriot Act is much longer and hooks into dozens of other laws (making it worthy of a "slippery-slope" argument, unlike the Health proposals).

I don't worry about what the schools teach my kids.
Not worth the fight.
I teach them to think for themselves and be their own leaders.

wow, they're idiots. 1. teaching kids from an early age to accept other people, is VERY important for the childs future interacting with those individuals. 2. Kids in schools will not ONLY learn about LGBT material, that's only a small portion of the big picture. 3. what's so wrong about teaching kids to be tolerant of others? (which is the most important question). And Megan McCain says that the Republican party is a safer place for gays... yeah right!

I remember when I was in grade school, we had specific times with each curriculum, math, science, reading, etc... The idea that THIS particular issue with trump all the other materials that are taught in class is just absurd. Sometimes you can get the point across with planting little nuggets of information to achieve your ultimate goal. They don't have to spend hours upon hours on teaching kids about LGBT issues.

About the millions in illicit profits the medical establishment makes off of mentally ill persons as they carve up their bodies and try and convince them they are changing their gender? About how transgenders are mentally ill and how you cannot become male if born female and vice versa?

to classify ALL individuals as "mentally ill" for being transgendered is not only ignorant but wrong. That same argument you made can be made about plastic surgery in general. A woman who has plastic surgery to make her breast bigger is mentally ill. A person who had their face disfigured getting plastic surgery... You are who you are and YOU can't decide that, it's all about feeling comfortable about yourself, NOT denying yourself, which is the real sin.

I oppose cosmetic breast implants for the same reason. Not being comfortable in your own skin is not a reason to mutilate yourself with the assistance of quack physicians. A man born a man cannot become a woman. So a man who tells himself after letting a doctor mutilate him that he now is a woman is mentally ill. He's delusional. And doctors who participate in this charade violate the Hippocratic Oath and should be at a minimum stripped of their license to practice in all 50 states.

Why is it relevant whether or not you think transgender people are legitimate representations of their chosen gender?
People should be forced to live tortured lives because you disagree with the conclusions they make about themselves? I think it's funny that you bring up breast implants, as though limiting the amount of control people have over their own bodies across the board somehow makes it okay. Who died and made you the authority on when it's okay to be uncomfortable about something?

Why are you comfortable with mutilating mentally ill people? For instance, taking a mentally ill woman who thinks she's meant to be a man and removing her breasts and fashioning for her a fake penis and putting it in place of her vagina. And the medical establishment is making a fortune taking advantage of these mentally ill people. Why is that OK with you? Whatever happened to tolerance and compassion?

What's the alternative? Do we maintain the un-Christlike behavior of calling kids fags and threaten them with violence? What's the problem anyway? Don't the red states do homeschooling and send their kids to "Christian" charter schools anyway? Let's compromise. Conservitives stop teaching intelligent design and liberals stop using My Two Mommies textbooks. The three penguins story gets to stay 'cause that's a biological subject that will help kids understand why Rover sometimes humps Spot.

This program takes away time from teaching kids how to add, read and turning in mommy and daddy in the "Just Say No" curriculum.
