the best thing about the 80's, well besides the music is people, I was a live dj at a local skating ring named Roller Town, and color was never an issue, it was all about having a great time with friends or just being around everyone and making new friends....damn I miss those times..

@creativa15 'The Time' was a great contrast to Princes Band in the movie Purple Rain. Morris Day's was more fun and just dancey while princes material was more heavy and introspective. Like Pimps and hustlers vs a Rebel on a motercycle.

@SuperDrJeckyl it was Jamie Starr. As a matter of fact, if you listen closely to the Time's first album/CD, the entire album is Morris Day on lead and Prince singing backup. It's pretty obvious on Cool and Get it Up.

@dingostorm11 Morris and the Time were part of Prince’s band in Minneapolis and like any sensible person who believes in his own product, split his band into two for the movie and made some very contrasting sounds. Morris had rhythm that’s for sure.
