  • After initializing and parametrizing hundreds of unknown factors, inserting divergent proxy data and ignoring any difficult natural forcing factors,we ran hundreds of simulations until we obtained the results we wanted–an ensemble of meaningless projected results, which we then averaged. We utilized the liberally unprincipled component method to homogenize and sensitize this to produce a new hockey stick, which gave a very robust prediction (95% probability) that we are totally screwing ALL of you

  • Fred Singer is the same man who still believes smoking does not cause lung cancer. He's been an active paid 'expert' for the tobacco industry and believes a scientist can be both ethic as moral by accepting money from the tobacco industry and Big Oil while defending scientifically that smoking does not cause lung cancer/man is not to blame for GW.

Fortunately, there are very few scientists which such little integrity as Dr Singer.

Exxon Mobile is a regular funder of The Independent Institute

  • @ReverendBrownbuttock hmm... actually he says said the link between Second hand smoke and cancer was too weak to discern from errors. I smoked and never got cancer so smoking does not cause it. It would be better to say smoking increases your chances greatly of getting cancer. I gave up and I hope every body can get rid of this disgusting habit. But he was still correct to say second hand smoke does not cause cancer.

  • @glennimmortal Well, you're not dead yet so lets not make premature judgements.

Either way, Fred Singer is the type of scientist who enjoys going against the mainstream scientific opinion. In principal, there is nothing wrong with that providing you have some very good scientific arguments. But when he is financially benefiting, either directly or indirectly, from tobacco or oil related corporations AND his scientific arguments are weak, his opinions shouldn't be hyped this much.

  • @ReverendBrownbuttock But surely the Independent Institute would like to see Exxon Mobile to continue to fund them so they invite Fred Singer as a speaker to spout his AGW nonsense and they even sponsor him as a Research Fellow.

  • @ReverendBrownbuttock You seem to know him well, I wouldn't presume to know Fred Singer in any capacity but weather his statements are factual or not is the important thing. I can only assume that your to lazy or uninterested in checking, without disqualifying his opinions/statments via character assassination.

I wouldn't say Al Gore is wrong about sea level rise (being around 20F within 100Y) because he is a politician. I would say he is wrong because no scientific paper agree's with that.

  • @glennimmortal Yes, I do know him very well as the world of AGW skeptics is made up of only a handful of 'experts' whose claims are repeated ad infinitum despite the fact that most, if not all of them, have repeatedly proven false, fabricated or cherry-picked by the climate science community as a whole. Eg his much repeated assertion that 555 of all 625 glaciers were actually growing was proven false and originated from his Exxon sponsored SEPP organization. Yet skeptics still repeat the claim

  • Long winded and pointless intro ends @ 6:03
