Just got back from Turkey on Thursday & there was a pretty bad storm that started just the day we were leaving. There was pretty bad lightening so we had to sit on the plane for about half an hour waiting for it to pass. Taking off looked pretty crazy as you could see the lightening on both sides of the plane. I was pretty scared, its only my 2nd flight. I've never been so happy to be touching down in the shitty town I live in, I have a lot of respect for pilots.

@B3NJ4M1NOX Uhh did you ever think that maybe that was the only place they had space to put it? St. Maarten is a pretty small island with a lot of terrain. Large expanses of flat land suitable for airports is kind of hard to come by.

@Solja2010 No, it is not that. Concord has a very aerodynamic fuselage and is longer than that aircraft. Also it could not be stopped in time with the short runway at TNCM.
