There's clear evidence that this driver isn't meant to be pushed that hard. The non-linear excursion is horribly apparent. The subwoofer driver used in the Z-2300 is a Tang Band driver with only 7mm Xmax, yet people like to push it over 10mm one-way.. not smart!
People use these things like they're subwoofers, when I wouldn't even call them true subs. I have the Z-2200 system, and it performs quite nicely given it's price tag. Thing is, when I go and iisten to (and feel) my proper audio system (see my videos), it's hard to go back to the Z-2200..
I was just saying they use these like they are car subs. since car subs have more power and can handle that type of punishment at that volume. but this is a sub, its just not a super powerful sub that some people think they are
Yeah, I get what you mean. I wouldn't call it a true sub because of the range it can play. I have first hand experience with the Z2200 and Z2300 subs, and neither of them play under 40Hz properly.. A subwoofer should ideally go to 20Hz, but if it can't do at least 30Hz, it's looking more like a woofer to me.
I can hear 30Hz fine with the z-2300. It plays it properly compared to my home theatre. the tone heard is 100% the same. Anything under 30Hz, isn't really audible anymore. It's still a subwoofer
It's not a real sub because any respectable full-range speaker can go just as low if not lower. A subwoofer is named so because it's supposed to reproduce subsonic frequencies. 40Hz isn't even close to subsonic, so it's not a "real/true" subwoofer.
sure. i do agree but still it's not worth making something that can go lower than 20-15HZ or higher than 100KHZ. Reason: Lower than 15. U can't hear it.
I agree with you partially.. The reason they make subwoofers that go subsonic is because you can feel those frequencies and it adds to the experience. The reason they make tweeters that can go to 100KHz is because there's a theory that basically says the higher it can go, the more smooth the response is within the audible bandwidth (20-20,000Hz).
Well for everyone, i have had this subwoffer for over 2 years and i haven't done this alot, but i have played the sub really loud for longer periods and it can really take it... Still has that same amazing sound and good bass.. This is IMO one of the very best computer systems.. i rearely hear anything that comes close (talking computer speakers now.)
I don't push mine as hard as the one in this video, but mine still works great after like 6+ years. I have the Z2200 model, same sub, better satellites.
@falkon212 lol how can an older model be better, not a big improvement from logitech is it :D
logitech isnt doing anything these days anyways lol.. making ipod speakers and keyboards, they should make a new pc speaker with a 15" or 12" in it.. =(
A cell phone captures at about 10 to 20 fps (and in low quality). Most camcorders record at 25 to 30 fps, and very few camcorders record slow-motion (slow motion = >30 fps). I have never heard of a cell phone that records this quality video AND slow motion.
Ah, yes, the NEVER word. Yeah, I heard of it once before, in the description : ). But this is a cellphone, and my cellphone's video camera can't capture anything without jacking up the light intensity (the contrast jumps wildy from pic to pic). My $200 digital camera doesn't record in slo-mo either, and at Best Buy I couldn't find one camcorder that supported slo-mo.
Z2300 sub only responds down to 35hz....

actually the human ear can hear down to 20hz with a few people that can hear a bit lower and a bit higher
cerwinvegafan 2 years ago
lol, yeah, but the sub doesn't go any lower than 30Hz :P
I can hear 14Hz but I can't hear 22kHz
maximum I can hear is 19kHz. keep in mind that I'm a 15 year old guy.

this sub bangs as hard as a 15" with 1200 watts going trhough it and box is sealed lol, this sub is really good
