HELL YEAH! That was Metallica's DESTRUCTION TOUR! It was my first concert in 1997 I seen them at the Rosemont Theatre now named The Allstate Arena. This was no mistake. They rocked this show all over the world!

I was in Las Cruces, NM when they did this at a show there, and I thought it was really real until I went online searching for news about it. I was trying to decide if I should run for it. I never heard any mention of it since then until someone linked me to this video just now. I always wonder how many people at the show thought it was real.

Really, though, I was fooled by it until I read the comments here...it's pretty scary to watch if you think it's real! It would've probably been all the more hilarious if they had played it after "Fight Fire With Fire"...maybe that would be too obvious to keep from the audience from catching on, though.

They did this at the San Diego show. It was awesome. This was back before everything was spoiled on the internet so I wasn't expecting it. Then they turned a dangling light bulb on and started playing again. So pwn.

It's true, it was staged and the addtinal material on the DVD even has interviews about it. for instance with the flaming man.

It's a stage stunt, and non of the people at the show were ever at danger.
