Where are the true Patriots today? Who will stand up and defend our Constitution? The Tree of Liberty is withered and dying... it may already be too late to save her. What happened to all the REAL Men?
@derekHSmith they died in the wars the rich people wanted.what we have now is just a bunch of wannabes the police have put so much fear in people that no one wants to say or do anything about it.in 10 years or less this whole country will be controlled by police and the rich.already in tn we are under police control at least the poor are and people of color. not one person in tn will stand up against corrupt and brutal police they all just lay down and take the abuse its very bad here.my opinion
I always find it funny whenever I see some right-wing actor/singer who goes on Cluster Fox and is able to spew all kinds of right-wing trash with no disruption and is then glorified as some kind of patriot or breathe of fresh Hollywood air... but when one thinks of all others (in this case the law) they are seen as Communist, Socialist, unpatriotic, and/or told to shut up since they obviously do not know what they are talking about.
@whoo689 Oh well, the warrant was "just a piece of paper", like that "quaint" old U.S. Constitution.
If you haven't done anything wrong, and the cops don't come to your house by mistake, and you're not watching old 'Cheech and Chong' movies, you have nothing to worry about.
@RawFoodKevin That's a load of crap! They do it all the time. Cops get to make the rules and if things don't fit, they make them fit. How many innocent men have been released from jail after dna proved they didn't do a crime but the cops sent them there with manufactured evidence? A LOT!!! If you haven't done anything wrong you SHOULDN'T have anything to worry about but that is not truly the case. Fact is, we aren't that different than any other place on earth when it comes to this.
@RawFoodKevin was hoping you were being sarcastic but it wasn't immediately obvious in the post! There are waaaay too many people who really DO believe exactly what you wrote there. So in answer to your post I am neither high nor do I need to look up the definition of sarcasm but I am certainly glad you aren't one of THOSE people! Ha Ha!
OH EM GEE! Andy Griffith understood something about our right to privacy and freedom from government surveillance most Americans have bee brain washed to forget!
Sad we don't have shows like this anymore to show people the difference between right and wrong. I really don't think people know the difference any longer.
Ah yes, those were the good old days when the entertainment industry actually tried to uphold (real) American values, including the idea that obeying the law was the correct path to justice, rather than the law being an instrument of injustice. Two other shows that did the same were The Untouchables (Robert Stack vsn) and Black Saddle.
The episode was seized and made confidential by the Bush administration which did not want Mayberry Security secrets shared with the enemy. They were concerned that Nick Nolte and other drunks would learn how to withstand interrogation.
Remember the time Opie and his friends waterboarded a confession out of Otis the town drunk and Andy had to go release him from Floyd's Barbershop & Concentration Camp, but it was too late because Barney and Goober had already sentenced him to death and declared Andy weak on terrorism thereby forcing Obama, I mean, Andy to leave him in prison until some future solution could be found?
Goober, over at Democratic Underground said that this was filmed in a different era, while the Twin Towers were still standing. Goober forgets the post offices being blown up in protest of the Vietnam War. Goober also forgets that the Twin Towers hadn't been built when this was filmed.
Why are federal buildings like fortresses these days? Why do the feds need so much more protection than the rest of us? Are they doing something wrong and fear the people?
Andy Griffith - one of the most respected celebrities this world has ever seens. He's open-minded, proper behaving, and as it turns out - a guy that is still relevant today.
Why does the gov't hate rule abiding Sheriff Taylor??? Sad...
You mean because he didn't waterboard Otis to find out the location of the moonshine still? Yeah, he should have turned him over to Barney, and looked the other way for awhile. Or have some bounty hunters from Richmond do the "extraordinary rendition" thing on him. Andy's definitely a pinko.

Ron Paul 2012!
He stands against draconian bills like SOPA, NDAA and the Patriot Act.
Less government spending, less taxation to American Citizens, and a budget plan that works.
This man has been fighting for your personal freedom and the separation of congress from big business for years.
He has fought against the war on drugs, foreign wars, the federal reserve, nation building, and corporate bail outs.
Vote for liberty this year. Vote for real change.
Thumb up and spread the message!

What a shame that the moral of the story at the end was the EXACT opposite what Andy was trying to convey to Opie.

Did you see the episode where the Negro came into the diner through the front door and tried to order lunch?
He got "due processed" right out of town!
Oops! There was no episode like that because Mayberry was redneck "whites only".
