Although spreading out your cooking times is a good idea, I personally like the flavour that the potatoes pick up from the spices and sausage by boiling everything together. Thanks for showing a very simple preparation that only relies on nice new potatoes, good quality sausage, and sweet corn.
No offense, but you don't put the potatoes, corn and sausage in at the same time. From a rolling boil,The potatoes go first, wait 10 minutes, add sausage, wait 5 minutes, and corn, wait 5 minutes.....and you only cook the shrimp for 2 minutes. Furthermore, if you cook your potatoes in a seperate pot, the starch won't make you shrimp shells stick!
I've used Zatarains Crab Boil before, and it made the house stink like an outhouse.
I mean it LITERALLY stunk like it was an outhouse full of runny shit!
