I just installed RE5, but am having a strange problem. I plug in my headphones so I could play while Im on the train going to work and I noticed that I could still hear it through my laptop speakers, but when I close the game everythings back to normal. Its really weird, anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it

while this game is fun i do tend to miss the older RE games yea they may be "clunky" in gameplay and somewhat outdated graphics wise but to me there still fun to play. wish capcom would release a RE collection for Xbox 360 so i can enjoy my classic RE again.

All you have to do is look at the visuals. They're gorgeous. Better than any PC game on the market. Most of those other games, however, require a Quad Core or better, with a mid-ranged GeForce GTS series car or better (like a 250 or 300 series).
I think the graphics are way better on the pc then the ps3 and 360 versions =P probably cause I have it but I havve to say this and only this..... re4 was better I still play through that on my wii/gamecube every chance I get idk re5 was a hell of a lot harder in the beginning though when I first played it xD
@FreeButtSex I think they're pretty high. But keep in mind its always the minimum requirements that are printed on the box and they're just to run the game. Usually the recommended specs are what you need at the least to run the game at a smooth rate.

@StyrbjornStarke I think its a good game, but I loved RE4 so much that RE5 was a big letdown. Mostly because it wasn't scary having a partner the whole time and the inventory system sucked
@ChicagoBulls1984 This game is an allout hollywood action game, it completely rapes everything Res stands for, part 4 was a perfect balance of horror and action. With 5 Capcom just went too over the top in their pursuit of trying to make something new
I sincerely hope that res 6 is going back to its survival horror roots

No tiene el mismo sentimiento de estar en Raccon City en las oscuros callejones, es una nueva mirada, pero era lo que mas me gusta de RE junto con su aparente lógica que hace que uno sienta la presión de la situación,al jugar este, nunca sentí ese viejo sentimiento, lo vi mas como otro juego de atar bichos donde hay municiones en jarrones y esas tribus africanas...Pero es bueno.

Sure, the horror part didn't work out, at all (except for being afraid that you might die from shooting like a retard). The game's mechanic is good IMO, It's still like the old ones. I can't get why some people would like it to be quick paced, ammo wasting games like left 4 dead then go play it already.
I guess the Resident Evil franchise is going more into a 3rd Person Action Zombie Killing Game rather than the pure Survival Horror one. It's far from being a bad game but for some of you, think of it as a game of it's own. I do agree tho that they REALLY put down the scaryness in this one (exept for some parts here and there)

@ChrisRedfield771 yeah I played it in co-op to help the friend get his trophy(he collects them sadly for him). And proffesional is just a difficulty level buti t's still on a crappy game.
And then you notice that the only people really complaining about series changing are those afraid of change, not the ones who loved the series.
If you really loved a series, you'd play it no matter what they did to the gameplay, or whether or not the overall style has changed. We all have our own opinions though, but don't think other people are oblidged to hate the change because you do.
Resident Evil 4 was my all-time favourite PS2 game. I probably finished it atleast 30 times (nerd, yeah).
RE5 gave me and my Brother alot of hours aswell, we got SS rankings on every level, every difficulty. Yes, even on Professional... Fucking bullshit it was.
Final Fantasy XIII though suffers alot from being linear and its intended flaws.
If i would be the game creator of this game i would prefer this.1.you are able to shoot while walking still with remarkable accuracy(remarkable accuracy because with that muscle he cant shoot very well?2.melee system-chris redfield had a huge bulky muscle and he cant perform melee when there is no command prompt like (press F to uppercut).3.make some real survival horror (like dead space 2)so it will be appealing to men like us(i prefer zombies).4.make the place darker so it will be scary.
Resident evil 5 seems to just have taken most of resident evil 4 game elements (and deleting some) with new characters except that now it's set in South Africa and the awesome character that was wesker dies in a weird lava level.

A quick stupid question here, because I didn't see it specifically mentioned: if you get the PC version, do you need a controller/pad, or can you just use regular old mouse/keyboard?

4 was a disapointment. I remember seeing the original trailer for it. It was awsome. It was more like the Resident Evil Remake. Leon wore the same cloths as the released version of 4 but had the Mark 21 he finds in Resident Evil 2. It was more like classic Resident Evil and the graphics were actually better than what was released. So Resident Evil 5 is an option, but I'm not in a hurry to play it.

Why give it such a high score? and why mention 'survival horror' in the description? IGN haven't got any idea what they're talking about when it comes to resident evil obviously.
The older resident evil games are survival horror, this game felt so crap.
For example no moving as you shoot, some say it would make it easier but it wouldn't because you still have little ammo unlike other 3rd person shooters.
And at the end(spoiler alert) they kill Wesker off in such a rubbish over the top way =/

the RE wasnt realised in this game but the mercenaries was a ton of fun as an extra though i prefer the old mercenaries which should also be included as extra.
the main thing that let me down was the script in this game. it just wasnt believable and realistic, always packed with the one liners.

@SuperMvC3 that's your opinion, I gave mine. Have you even played the old classic ones? I have to be honest the camera angles are quite annoying and 'put some people off' but beside that they're just incredible for the creepy atmosphere and music full of suspense and jumpy parts etc.

@Johny40Se7en It's happening to all the old big franchises, FF, GTA, Fallout series(#3).Hopefully It dosen't happen to the coming Deus Ex 3(Human Revolution). Every series is being strayed from It's original origins in favor of a more cinimatic simpler, action heavy-light story"sell ppl how realistic It looks first" type of deal. It Sucks. Also what defines a genre type is being changed. This is billed as an action game lol. Rpgs= now basic social networks with dress up avatars (WoW). 2011=hurts

Have long goes from time to time, might take you half your life to complete a game like Elder Scrolls but at least it'll last haha =)
I agree that this game is not as good as everyone is saying, and that RE4 was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay way way way better.
But still, it's not that bad. There is no moving while you shoot because the game focuses on crowd control, that menas you need to shoot the one that is a bigger thread to you and keep everyone away, it also enlarges the panic feeling so you are more tense.
forgot to mention that you dont get the dlc that is on the console version. there is no way to even buy that content for pc.

Sure, the horror part didn't work out, at all (except for being afraid that you might die from shooting like a retard). The game's mechanic is good IMO, It's still like the old ones. I can't get why some people would like it to be quick paced, ammo wasting games like left 4 dead then go play it already.

I guess the Resident Evil franchise is going more into a 3rd Person Action Zombie Killing Game rather than the pure Survival Horror one. It's far from being a bad game but for some of you, think of it as a game of it's own. I do agree tho that they REALLY put down the scaryness in this one (exept for some parts here and there)

And then you notice that the only people really complaining about series changing are those afraid of change, not the ones who loved the series.
If you really loved a series, you'd play it no matter what they did to the gameplay, or whether or not the overall style has changed. We all have our own opinions though, but don't think other people are oblidged to hate the change because you do.
RE4-5, and FFXIII are amazing games.

Resident Evil 4 was my all-time favourite PS2 game. I probably finished it atleast 30 times (nerd, yeah).
RE5 gave me and my Brother alot of hours aswell, we got SS rankings on every level, every difficulty. Yes, even on Professional... Fucking bullshit it was.
Final Fantasy XIII though suffers alot from being linear and its intended flaws.
nevertheless, it's one of my favourite PS3 games.

If i would be the game creator of this game i would prefer this.1.you are able to shoot while walking still with remarkable accuracy(remarkable accuracy because with that muscle he cant shoot very well?2.melee system-chris redfield had a huge bulky muscle and he cant perform melee when there is no command prompt like (press F to uppercut).3.make some real survival horror (like dead space 2)so it will be appealing to men like us(i prefer zombies).4.make the place darker so it will be scary.

Resident evil 5 seems to just have taken most of resident evil 4 game elements (and deleting some) with new characters except that now it's set in South Africa and the awesome character that was wesker dies in a weird lava level.
Its just ridiculous. :/
(elements of resident evil 4 : beginning is a village, end is in a lobartory, guys who have electric matraque, some bosses are the same I think, etc etc)

It's a good game if you enjoy shooting "zombies", and have a fun arcade mode ( Merenary mode ).
However, i don't think it should be in the resident evil series as it does not really fit with the rest of the series.

I really don't know why people hate on this game. Resident Evil hasn't been scary for ages, so there is no reason to bitch about that. This game plays just like RE4, which everyone loves, but people say the game plays like shit. Where's the logic in that? Plus, RE4 would get boring at times, but this is all-out action. Why all the hate? Please enlighten me as to why this game sucks.

4 was a disapointment. I remember seeing the original trailer for it. It was awsome. It was more like the Resident Evil Remake. Leon wore the same cloths as the released version of 4 but had the Mark 21 he finds in Resident Evil 2. It was more like classic Resident Evil and the graphics were actually better than what was released. So Resident Evil 5 is an option, but I'm not in a hurry to play it.

Why give it such a high score? and why mention 'survival horror' in the description? IGN haven't got any idea what they're talking about when it comes to resident evil obviously.
The older resident evil games are survival horror, this game felt so crap.
For example no moving as you shoot, some say it would make it easier but it wouldn't because you still have little ammo unlike other 3rd person shooters.
And at the end(spoiler alert) they kill Wesker off in such a rubbish over the top way =/

the RE wasnt realised in this game but the mercenaries was a ton of fun as an extra though i prefer the old mercenaries which should also be included as extra.
the main thing that let me down was the script in this game. it just wasnt believable and realistic, always packed with the one liners.

@SuperMvC3 that's your opinion, I gave mine. Have you even played the old classic ones? I have to be honest the camera angles are quite annoying and 'put some people off' but beside that they're just incredible for the creepy atmosphere and music full of suspense and jumpy parts etc.

Yes, every Resident Evil has 'no moving and shooting' but I think it would be a step forward changing this.
And you must not be a real fan of Resident Evil at all if you thought the 5th was 'amazing'. Your opinion, but flippin heck you must have only liked the the puzzles of RE games and not the characters or the creepy atmosphere/music.
Have you forgot what they did to Wesker? one of the coolest characters.

Having 'moving and shooting' would change the combat already and Wesker dying is a disgrace, shot by a rocket while sitting in magma trying to pull down a helicopter? you must have as much(or lack of) just like the other person who replied above.

@Johny40Se7en It's happening to all the old big franchises, FF, GTA, Fallout series(#3).Hopefully It dosen't happen to the coming Deus Ex 3(Human Revolution). Every series is being strayed from It's original origins in favor of a more cinimatic simpler, action heavy-light story"sell ppl how realistic It looks first" type of deal. It Sucks. Also what defines a genre type is being changed. This is billed as an action game lol. Rpgs= now basic social networks with dress up avatars (WoW). 2011=hurts

@Johny40Se7en I've never played the original Resident Evil, but I was a huge fan of 4... Resident Evil 5 suffers alot from American cliches.
Chris is a dull, boring, stereotyped character and Sheva (I forgot her name) is merely in there for the Co-Op.
But, I wouldn't say it's bad. Me and my Brother completed it 100% and got almost 100 hours of gameplay in.

@mujuma I just gave my opinion, not everyone agrees with it and I'm glad otherwise the World would be a more boring place(I do hate arguing though, especialy when it 'drags on') I have a friend who likes the 5th game but he still doesn't like how different it it(in a bad way) to the originals.
This is the friend I completed it with in co-op, it was ok the first time =/

When people begin to force their own onto anothers, thats when it becomes a problem.
I dont think I could replay Resident Evil 5 anytime soon.
The controls feel so weird and I've already finished it a ton of times... So I doubt I'd get back into it.
I'm to busy no-lifing Oblivion (almost 100 hours in, about 2/4 done? idk...), waiting for Skyrim and Final Fantasy Versus to come out.

@mujuma Ah haha ok, every game has flaws, but it's games like Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion that has SO many good things that you don't really care/think of the bad stuff.
And just because a game is incredible doesn't mean you don't have to lose control of time, health, fitness etc =P
Have long goes from time to time, might take you half your life to complete a game like Elder Scrolls but at least it'll last haha =)

I agree that this game is not as good as everyone is saying, and that RE4 was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay way way way better.
But still, it's not that bad. There is no moving while you shoot because the game focuses on crowd control, that menas you need to shoot the one that is a bigger thread to you and keep everyone away, it also enlarges the panic feeling so you are more tense.
