It sucks, I tried to do this on my 3G via the instructions on iFans.com, and... well, the camera was all R/G/B colors when I opened it up, occured in other apps too, I had to disable the video-camera string from the N82*.plist file, that sucked. :(

Just use the fucking app from iPhone 3GS- oh wait, the 3GS uses an Arm v7 processor right?

@triberofvengeance yup. and the 3G is ARMv6 i'm fairly sure. And there is a lot more to it than just simply throwing the Camera.app from the 3GS on the 3G. There are frameworks that need to be rewritten along with capabilities that need to be added to a specific .plist file.

i would love to, but im waiting for them to actually get it done, because the process is tricky and you could screw something up. i had to restore my phone 2 times doing this.

they have gotten it to record at the full 30fps like the 3gs and take pictures, but the video has a nasty green color to it. pictures are fine.

thats not an iPhone 3G, its a 3GS. You have a compass app and on top of that you rphone takes pictures way to fast to be a 3g.
