This must've been one of the episodes that Jim Henson performed in before he passed away. Afterwards, Steve Whitmire performed the roles of Ernie and Kermit the Frog.
Well, actually, Henson's name was still in the credits until 2002, beause there were still tons of older segments being mixed in with new ones. In fact, old Henson clips were still being used until just a few years ago, so they actually should have kept his name there even longer than they did.
Classics sesame street at it's best but I was wondering classic sesame fan do you have a friday ending credits with the Lulbuy sesame street theme the Lulbuy version of the sesame street theme was allways on of my favorites so if you could find a sesame street wit
@brettfoshager This video was uploaded 2 years ago by another user, and I saved this video before it got deleted (the user closed his account). This goes for all the other videos I've posted. All of them were posted by other users, and I saved the videos before they all got deleted due to account suspensions, or closed accounts. Does this answer your question?
i hated it when they changed the music during the funding credits in 1993. I liked the funky chimes a lot better. Also, when they refer to shining time station, i wonder if they're referring to the episode "Achoo" where mr. conductor has a cold and then henry sneezes some ash onto some naughty boys
OKAY! WHO else thinks the trumpet at 1:47 sounds like it's saying, "personality"? When I was growing up, I would always sing "personality" at that part. I remember my mom hearing me, & asking me if I knew what that word meant. I REALLY didn't know, but from the question, I thought it was a dirty word. (LOL!)
Channel 2? Don't they mean channel 6 SScomes on channel 6. Why did they show these credits only on Friday? Also, How can soooo many kids hide behind one tree and you not see them not even barkley?
Mine is from Channel 56 (WTVS-TV) in Detroit. Although there is no announcer telling us what's up next. That happened on The Disney Channel (when it was commercial free in 1983-1997). Instead, They just until show is completely over. Then, a "Coming Up Next" bumper comes up.
@BuddyBoy600alt you got one of the tapes from Detroit? What's up with the San Diego KPBS station ID at the beginning of the Sesame Street episode where Linda gets mad about the TV?
@nicka727 That was originally posted by Barneyjumps. Unfortunatley, Barneyjumps got suspended from YouTube due to copyright claim by Hit Entertainment (The people who have the rights to Barney and Friends).
There's the grouch magician known as the Great Blacchini ("Ala Sour Grapes!") and the farmer Old YuckDonald from the story of The Grouches Who Lost All Their Pickles. Remember either of those guys?
Wow. I'm the one who first brought this episode out into the sunlight. I used to babysit some kids in 2000, and this was one of the episodes they had on some old tapes. The mom said I could take some, and I ended up with six episodes. I'm kicking myself now because they had a LOT more, but I was too shy to ask for them. And guess what they taped them over with later? Survivor! (groan...)
But yep---I made a copy of this episode for a certain user on here, and it's been circulating ever since. XD
Yeah, who needs "Survivor" (though, incidentally, last year's winner is from my home town)?
Looking on Muppet Wiki, I do recall some of those episodes. One thing you might consider doing is sending your videos to another user who has the equipment to post them. Just a thought, though. No pressure.
Well, there are numerous clips on YouTube that are from those episodes, (like PG6Siv1hmbw, pcODjCcmYWo, ZIrtwUdHPb8, xvDkN2Px-Tw, v0zcgpEm6mQ, RSa6aE3FwF0, YLUsEVd1pk8, i_1YbFMR8j8, 0-UMlJhgQbY, msTIxad1Nkg, and cQ9g62YE1N4.) The street stories, aren't though.
It's weird, you know? Snag some tapes out of some house, and eight years later they end up on a Wikipedia offshoot that didn't even exist at the time. (Heck, did Wikipedia itself exist in 2000?)
I wouldn't know. I didn't use the internet back then. And yes, lots of those inserts are up here. I just really want to see the street scenes to this particular episode.
Someday I am going to play this song on a harmonica even it takes me my whole life. This song should never die.

I Think that Oscar The Grouch should be the next guest star of WWE Raw, after The Rock.

If they would bring back the classics of Sesame Street, i would watch every single one. I'm 29 (almost 30) and I still love this stuff.

1:40 - I always used to wonder how all those kids fit behind the tree... Ahh, the days of SS before it became the ELMO show...

At 1:01 why is he telling what show is up next?

How is that unusual? Networks and stations have run voiceover previews for much of TV history.

Did you record this in 1992 or wait till they aired episode 2895? How did you find this episode?

Because that's the end of the clip coming just before this one.

I seem to prefer the Barkley credits with the scrolling credits like that. I think I remember seeing those closing credits when I was a kid

There's the only bit of Ernest's appearance we have on youtube so far. I'd really like to see the whole of it.

Garrettk41 2 years ago
Sorry. I can't. I don't have the equipment to upload anything.
Marbles471 2 years ago
@Marbles471 Aw, shucks. Oh well. That's life, I guess. Incidentally, what are the five other episodes you've got, just out of curiosity.
Garrettk41 2 years ago
Yeah, it bites. I have a lot of stuff I'd put up if I could.
The other five episodes that I got from that house were
#2820
#2840
#2978
#2979
#2980
I also had #2504 from some other mom I knew who didn't mind giving up an old tape.
So yeah---if you have any of those, I'm the one who saved them from a terrible fate. A fate called "Survivor." XD
