I just got my car catted. Before i had the Bassani X pipe w/ flowmaster mufflers and no cats. Now it's got high flow magnaflows, and it's not so loud anymore :(
@SDHUMPUP noo you deffs said you lose a little power.... I deffinitely said you lose a little torque...? What im saying is back pressure is bad for your engine you just want to find the right balance of free flow to backpressure
it did have a deeper sound. much deeper actually, but i just used my regular digital camera which took terrible quality sound in videos. too bad the car was totaled. i now have a 99 cobra with a 302 stroker kit and FR500 heads with a 10.5:1 compression ratio. keep an eye out for what a 4-valve sounds like with no cats, a bassani x-pipe and flowmaster 44's
Ashame, I love the 'type' of sound your exhaust produces, I wish your camera would have been able to record the deepness of it. My favorite exhaust system all around is MAC, good balance of deep growl and muscle tone. Magnaflow's are awesome, but for them to really sound good you need a cammed engine. Otherwise they just drown out the sound, too deep.

no its not!! Backpressure is the enemy. Thats one of the things that blows gaskets.
Yes too little loses torque, but theres nothing bad about having a free flow set up, except the sound is sorta not so great. lol
