  • david....thank you for this work....you have planted an important seed my brother. To be replicated many times. Go Planet!

  • i'm sure that whoever bought this place has wiped out on those awkward stairs (1:14) more than once!...

  • im kinda scared alaska will turn into an industrial piece of shit like most of the rest of the world has.

if it does idk what else therell be

alaskas too amazing to be destroyed.

  • wherever there is white man or native for that matter in Alaska, the area is already an industrial piece of shit. There are very few it seems who care to beauty or make better their lot in life, both literally and figuratively. Our schools and retreats show people hands-on how to take care of themselves and the land so that both may continuously improve instead of degrade. Plant a tree. Pick up garbage. Get off the beaten path. Sit still in nature for even just a few moments.

  • Sounds like a great venture! I'm currently looking at prospective wilderness and survival schools, but it has been a very difficult search due to there being a dearth of them. The few that do exist and offer what I am looking for (semester-long to year-long courses) are quite expensive! Compounding the problem is a lack of time because I'm in college right now and will be for the next couple of years. It is my hope to enroll in one for a year once I'm finished with college.

    Hope to see yours!

  • Why wait? "Nature is the best teacher." The bare essentials of survival especially in Alaska are as follows:

    1- calm

    2- shelter

    3- warmth

    4- water

    5- food

    6- activity

    7- companionship

Let me know when you are ready for more instruction. -David Lakota

  • That looks like Dons house (across from the Musky) with an elevated addition.

  • I wish Alaska would be the one place that people leave alone and stop building upon. I hope wilderness takes back what is rightfully theirs.

This video is disturbing, it shows that only more and more will come and deforest to build a land for a pretty view, darn you all...

  • They have been doing the same to Colorado for several years now. You can't even escape civilization anymore. It takes 4 hrs to get out of town now. They have build homes and shopping centers all the way to the foothills. Sad

  • Once you visit Alaska you will see that it only takes a few minutes to escape civilization. Right across the street from the land in this video is 10,000 acres plus of uninhabited wilderness. Many Colorados can fit in Alaska and most of the State has no people, no roads and no development. Colorado too has vast uninhabited wilderness. You just have to get off the main road system and not be so addicted and distracted to the comforts of living so close to others.

  • Excellent video!!

  • I'm just awestruck. It's really beautiful. :)

  • Awesome. Reminds me of the log home my uncle Duke built for my aunt Velva in Estacada, Oregon along the McKenzie River. Big log home with lots of anterooms, big decks under the 60year old native rhodedendrons, two trout ponds, vegetable and flower gardens, and about 30 or so acres of timber. Trillums, deer tongue lilys - I miss it.

  • no shipping necessary... just choppin wood, carrying water and foraging for wild edibles: blueberries, salmonberries, and all kinds of plants, fish and game.

  • it must cost alot for shiping food and stuff...lol but true...

  • Thank you for putting this up and nice home ;) , Can i move in there? (angel)

  • Yeah, that's the price. It's worth more than a million. Actually it's priceless, especially considering what it is to be used for. And right across the gravel road out front is another 10,000 acres of pristine virgin wilderness for the kids to explore. They just need a basecamp. What price can be put on the value of children of all ages being able to have a genuine and life-long lasting connection to nature?

  • $850,000? WHAT?.

  • Beautiful

  • best of modern technology?? Is there such a thing?

  • Of course there is. Even a pair of socks is a form of technology as is just about every aspect of modern living. The internet that you used to watch the video and comment on it is, of course, technology and one of the best uses of it.

Even life itself is full of chaos, destruction and death. Coming to terms with both the light and dark aspects of our reality leads to a whole new level of being upon which you are on the verge.

  • quite a scheme, it will take some salesmanship to sell it, let us know if you pull it off.

what do the investors get for thier investment? do they get to live there or is that just for you?

is there room on this small parcel for 1000 investors and their family and friends?

will the investors also be responsible for funding ongoing expenses, like the high taxes that will accompany an inflated property like this?

  • This sounds very exciting. For the past 10 years I have been a sea and river kayak guide/ rock climbing instructor and am always looking to further my skills. Please let me know when your operation is underway. Or if you need help setting up I have plenty of elbow grease!! Good luck with all you do!

  • Thanks for the encouragement and the offer. I'm in Hawaii right now doin' some fund raising for a school and retreat here and Alaska. I look forward to takin' ya up on your offer.

  • David I remember you. you were trying to buy some land in Alaska for school.

  • Wow I've never been to Alaska but that definately looks the place to stay if I ever do get there !!

  • Thanks for the comment. After more than twenty years of exploring all over Alaska, Glacier City is one of the best. There are wilder places, but few that are on the edge of both wilderness and civilization.

  • David is there any land in Alaska a poor person can buy? Thinking about log home, but simple.

  • yes, there is a lot of land all over the State. I've never really been into buying or selling land and have yet to do so. Instead, focus on your education and your skills- especially where it involves tending to the land. Everywhere I have gone in Alaska or Hawaii or other places, I was able to live rent-free and mortgage free because I was willing to work the land and work with and for those who love the land.

  • This is an amazing place, where in Alaska is this?

  • "Glacier City" as it is known by locals or "Girdwood" on the map. It is about 35-40 miles east/south of Anchorage along the Seward Highway. Thanks for the comment.

    David

  • that would be amazing... how do i join??

  • There are two ways to join. One is to become a member such as through an individual membership. The other is to become part owner of the 2.8 acres we are buying. If we sell 1000 shares at $1000 each we can buy the property, the buildings and the production equipment necessary to produce and market the most amazing documentary motion picture films.
