Pride had some great fighters and awesome promotions.
BUT, it was also a major freak show affair. They loved to throw in a bunch of unskilled giants at 300+ lbs to fight Welterweights. It was pretty ridiculous. On top of that, they didn't have any fucking ranking system or title contentions. A lot of the time, they just matched up random fighters, or sent guys with REALLY HORRIBLE records to fight somebody who they thought could use another win. You PRIDE fans should understand this.
Pride FC was better than UFC. I agree with barchevous. Pride was all about the fight right now, as opposed to UFC 139 happening in December or something or UFC Undisputed on Xbox. I like UFC but Pride FC was way better. Better rules, better fighters.

Pride is way better than UFC...Pride rules make fights much more realistic which is why I like Pride better. Also the 10 minute round is nice because in the UFC, fighters nowadays are always trying to play it safe. You can sometimes see them looking up at the clock and finding ways to stall which leads to very boring fights...

I think pride was more entertaining, thats for sure, but the ufc puts on better fights. I just wish the were allowed to stomp and kicked downed opponents instead of them fucking early fight stopping elbows. I hate seeing a fight stop like UFC 46 with vitor and randy. That being said, pride did have some shady shit going down. In my opinion, a lot of the fighters there were juicing up, but thats just my opinion. They did have a lot of xciting fights though.

UFC is better now??? they get each month a new event but the thing is MOST of all the events theres alwas shity cards no good match up and the only fight you want to see most of the time is the main fight i actualy preffered the old UFC and pride because they actualy took time into an event. i preffer watching 4-5 big events each year with good match ups instead of 1 shity event each month .and letting you know UFC only give 30% each event to fighters instead of 50% (pride,dream etc)

Pride looks way more viscous then the UFC..i would say Pride was better then the UFC back then,but it doesnt compare to the UFC today..I like the octagon more then a ring,and i hate that 10 minute first round in Pride..too bad it doesnt exist anymore

@wonderIess alright they do all of those the only difference is that they are in a ring and btw the reason they don't allow stomps or soccer kicks is because they are in the us which does not allow legal stomps or kicks to the heads of grounded opponents. the ultimate fighter tournaments are probably way more intense too because they schedule it week after week rather than 3months apart

I think pride was more entertaining, thats for sure, but the ufc puts on better fights. I just wish the were allowed to stomp and kicked downed opponents instead of them fucking early fight stopping elbows. I hate seeing a fight stop like UFC 46 with vitor and randy. That being said, pride did have some shady shit going down. In my opinion, a lot of the fighters there were juicing up, but thats just my opinion. They did have a lot of xciting fights though.

pride was very successful. its just that SKY PerfecTV dropped their PPVs from their scheduled progamming. i think it had to do with the network finding out about the yakuza's involvement behind the scenes. so then Dream Stage was about to fold so they sold the rights to Pride to Zuffa in 2007. *correct me if i'm wrong*
