a similar thing happened to me. of course when s/he asked for money, and said that s/he was from los angeles, but was in africa "on holiday" and needed money from me, i knew it was a scam. i was very angry, not for trying to rip me off (wasn't going to happen) but for trying to play with my heart. I am doing this to a one of them right now, he/she whatever they are and I say they because I know from the grammer and the writing style that I am often talking to a different person.This one found me through a dating site and the after 2 hours on yahoo messenger she was deeply madly in love with me and can't wait to come here. Scambaiting is one of my favourite amusements. I often get offers of love which quickly turn into requests for money, but it always ends up costing the scammer money! I get them to phone me, multiple times, on my mobile (usually from Nigeria) whilst dangling a big payout in front of them to keep the interest going. Then I give them the runaround from bank to bank trying to track down a Western Union payment - which, of course never arrives! I hope it teaches them a lesson - probably not, though.
