I was there too. Talked to the Bass player after the show, and he said that was the drummers first show after like 3 practice sessions. He's a hell of a lot better than me!! Been 4 times to see the kang thisyear, and going back on Halloween to the Gray eagle in Asheville NC. See you there!
Well, it's recorded on a handheld Flip camera with a monaural microphone no bigger than a pencil eraser (if that!).... So a lot of the Bass get washed away.
Then I'm processing it in a nice iMac, but it's not a pro studio. Then what are you listening to it on? How great is your system.
So, right there you have three weaknesses in getting the sound that HE MADE to your ears.
Oh he's VERY real. First, this is a GUITAR song. All the drummer is doing is keeping time. Second, the star of the show, the CHART TOPPER is the Kang - so the drummer is not supposed to show out. He is there to support "The Kang". He's a REALLY nice guy when you talk to him. Go check out his MySpace (you'll find the link over at Unknown's MySpace). He's not a robot AT ALL!
what an awful thing to say. i HATE it when drummers just keep time behind guitarists. it sounds naked and boring. that being said, this this guy did a relatively good job of playing to the guitar, but his playing lacks a little oomph.
Yeah. Especially if you're a drummer. BUT he's getting paid to play the drums the way the frontman, the "star" of the show wants him to play. That's called being a pro and putting groceries on the table. Unknown Hinson is the name of the act! LOL......
But, don't forget he's brand new to the band, so maybe he was a little uptight, or maybe his dog died and he was down, or maybe he was........blah blah blah. Went and looked at your vid "THERMAL". Nice.

Did well squeezin' leads out of a Ricky 6 not an easy thing t do really. Love those 'anti-squeal' pickups to death though. BIG sound.

Well, like I said earlier, he's there to back the Kang. He was probably told that he's "support", not a star, unless he gets a solo.
Also, as he's new to the band he might just be being reserved.
For me this is a GUITAR GOD trio. It's all about the Guitar.
