The buildings were very old. Let's say there was a problem with the plumbing and it had to do with the pipes underneath the structure, by having that access the plumbers could go right down into the sewers and find the source of the problem rather then having to find a nearby manhole and trail back towards the building with the problem.

Yes, I'm glad you caught that. It's missing 10 seconds, but when she sticks that clothes hanger inside the shower drain, blood comes spraying out, that's it. Again, sorry.
