  • hey hey hey dont dis him for being retarded

  • i found a tailer when the game first came out here on youtube with translated lyrics.very hard to do.now theres tons and it pops up as a suggestion.pretty much a song relating to the motto of the hell jumpers.very easy to find.

  • It's not by Cafe Del Mar. It's by Light of Aiden from the ALBUM Cafe Del Mar, you're such a bullshitter.

The lyrics are "Gafflwn Dihenydd, o'r fuddugol yn wiriol sydd. Ni fydd neb yn ein Drechu, Falch ydy ni i drochu, Traed o flaen i'r Annwn, mewn y gwybodaeth fe godwn ni

  • Gaelic is Irish/Scottish/Welsh not Hungarian. The people in the odst unit are hungarian

  • too bad no one ever has just the music and no background noise

  • The whole song combined with the cinematics just sends chills down your spine. Its awesome. This is my favorite live action trailer yet!

  • likeasomeboooooodee

  • give a english translate

  • 2:24 seargent johnsen?

  • @onifayt1

ha! the one black guy yea? XD

    thats what i think too!

  • Ready for the battle

  • It's Welsh . . . NOT Hungarian. Look it up.

  • It is WELSH not Gaelic. Gaelic sounds and is spelled way different plus welsh is of Brythonic origin not Gaelic

  • @phontom6 you need a culture lesson both languages have common origin

  • @woolkev12 I know they have some similarities I have researched my ancestors culture and language i know but there are major differences between welsh which is brythonic and and the Gaelic languages there is even differences between Irish ans Scottish Gaelic and welsh sounds nothing like the two but that said these languages most likely stemmed off the ancient Celts of Gaul's language which is where the Celts migrated from over to the British Isles

  • @phontom6 im both irish and scotish and its more like the similarities between Australian and southern american accent i speak english and can barely understand them but there still the same language

  • They speak hungarian to get back 20% from the tax, what they spent in our country to make this trailer. (Tax rebate to make more film in hungary. When the film mediate any hungarian culture they get this rebate)

  • I thought it would be the English translation.

Why did they do it in Welsh anyway?

  • @x82ndODSTx They used a different language to give an idea that Earth was united against the Covenant

  • @x82ndODSTx because their welsh

  • These lyrics are SOOOOOO wrong

  • How does that sound Russian? I thought it was some old Irish language just because of the accent.

  • its hungarian

  • Hungarian language FOR THE GOD DAMN WIN

  • i think the younger looking odst in the scene when there around the fire is rookie

  • @ianm1229

I think it was rookie's son.

  • Not Gaelic, it's Welsh, mate. At least you got that it was Hungarian that they were speaking.

  • I would've never guest Hungarian being that by the time of Reach most Hungarians either had given up all culture or quite frankly died.

  • @cycler09 Interesting point...or just get engulfed into Russia, or some other Eastern European country, or maybe one big Eastern European state...

I would have guessed Russian..."Tarkov" kinda would make one think that it was Russian that they were speaking but it's interesting how they're speaking Hungarian, singing in Welsh, and there's a Russian mate in training...just goes to show that who cares where you're from-the Covenant is the enemy.

  • such a tool

  • JUST MAKE A DAM MOVIE ALREADY!!!!!! cause it would be dam sexy awesome....

also this trailer is fucking badasss

  • Thumbs up if you want to do an Orbital Drop!

  • @TigerMilitia Sure as long as you dont look at the statistics that make a point of saying that 2 of 5 droppers die horribly deaths ranging from burning alive, hitting something solid, BOILING ALIVE, getting hit by covie plasma THEN BOILING ALIVE and the better one is landing and not being able to get out so the covie get to do whatever they damn well please to you

  • @saviordd1 Feet First Into Hell Is The Motto For A Reason! "WE GO FEET FIRST, SIR!" :P

  • You're a fool, if you even bothered to do your homework (like I have) you would know that the song is WELSH and not gaelic!

And the song is not by Cafe Del Mar, Cafe Del Mar is a coffee shop in Ibiza Spain you fool, the band is "Light of Aidan" and the song is called "Lament". To add insult to injury, you got the "translation" from some other wrong fool on the internet. "We cheat death from his victory. We jump into hell knowing we will return" that is roughly the translation..... FOOL

  • @Canadafighter69 sorry buddy welsh is a modern gaelic

  • @noodles1916 Celtic languages are divided into two groups; Gaelic and Brythonic. Gaelic is spoken in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man, Brythonic is spoken in Wales, Cornwall and Brittany (North West France) There is no such language as "Welsh Gaelic"

I'm surpirised anyone is arguing about this any more. Even Halopedia have corrected their past mistakes and have the correct lyrics and translation now.

  • @Canadafighter69 Hey, call him a fool. That would be funny.

  • Scottish Gaelic or Irish Gaelic?

  • I swear to god that this halo is the worst halo ever made. Aside from halo wars but still this game was fucking horrible!!!

  • @THEGRATENITE it was only down rated because everyone was pissed off because they werent their preciouse super solder that can just fuckin blow up anything, and people said it was short, witch it was short, but the whole point was to just be a ordinary solder, and honestly if you played halo 2 you would understand that theywere so many glitches in that crapy game that in my opinion is the worst of all.so succk it up

  • @furtastice I honestly would prefer Halo 2 over ODST even if it had so many glitches so i don't feel like sucking it right now maybe later

  • You're really annoying to listen to

  • (DRUMS)

    (WAR SCENE)

    (SOLDIERS FUNERAL)

    We cheat death...

    ...from his rightful victory.

    FEET FIRST INTO HELL...

    WITH THE KNOWLEDGE...

    ...THAT WE...

    ...WILL RISE

  • DUDE TEY ARE spekeng REACH REACH OK

  • Acutally, its Welsh. In the trailer the instructors are yelling in HUNGARIAN. look it up on Halopedia. Welsh is similar to Gaelic.

  • The soldiers are speaking Magyar (Hungarian) but that song is not Gaelic, though it is related. It is Welsh.

Gafflwn Dihenydd Or fuddugol yn wiriol sydd, Ni fydd neb yn ein drechu,

    Falch ydy ni I drochu,

    Traed o flaen Ir Annwn,

mewn y gwybodaeth fe godwn ni.

We cheat Death from his rightful victory. No one can defeat us we are glad to plunge feet first into Annwn in the knowledge that we will rise.

  • iam on my friends youtube sutf but fuck all the guys who hate your video and thanks for the video i wanted to find out what it said

  • Its russian dumbasses look at the ODST tralier what flag is on the coffin thats right the USSR the old russia.

  • @TheGefro are you that retarded? It's the fucking ODST Flag dipshit

  • @TheGefro What the heck are you talking about? that's the ODST flag, you see them pull it off and fold it, how daft are you jeez. Anyways you can tell by how it sounds that it isn't Russian, it's has some signifigant differances from Russian.

  • @TheGefro LOL dude I dont see a hammer and sickle of any kind so no its not the USSR.

  • The first time I saw this trailer i was like: WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? It looked that cool!!

  • this is the actual song, those lyrcis are...taken out of the singing itself, Gaelic is a hard one to understand just out of the language, this is the actual gaelic for the lyrics.

"Agus mo arm na deartháireacha chuaigh thar an hilltops,

drenched i fola is féidir linn a bheith ...

ach tá ag troid ar chlé ar fad dom ...

In éineacht le mo arm na deartháireacha ...

titim síos againn ... dorchadas i ngach ... trí ifreann! "

  • how in the hell does it sound like Russian?

  • it is a real song used for military barials in the 1980s

  • the first part is this

"Light this candle and show the world we're all lined up to die.

Invite these lost souls to dine so grim infect you, glorify"

thats all my friend & i know

  • "this.. is why I'm awesome......I think.."

    thats great XD

  • ITS WELSH

  • @Shaitanification its not can you speak welsh i dont think so

  • @Shaitanification welsh and gealic are the fucking same ......

  • @wtfohno They're not the same. Gaelige is the native language of Ireland. Gaelic (or Gael) is the language of the Scottish. Welsh is... well, Welsh. They all have the same roots and if you got 3 people together who all spoke one of those languages, chances are they'd be able to understand bits and pieces of each others languages.

But they aren't "the same". They share the Brittanic dialect, but aren't the same.

  • @Ceroki225 The only moron here its you and your entire family. be happy ^^

  • @Shaitanification its hungarian dumbass

  • @deepsnowed dumbass ur father testicles

  • Here are the words properly spelled for all interested.

Gafflwn Dihenydd, o'r fuddugoliaeth wiriol sydd. Ni fydd neb yn ein Drechu, Falch ydy ni i drochu traed o flaen i'r Annwn yn y gwybodaeth fe godwn ni."

  • also the odst only appear ( before halo 3 odst ) twice in the halo trilogy - in halo 2 with pods and then in pelicans with the master cheif - could of atleast deployed them more - the best units in the whole unsc to earths darkest hour ?

  • Halo wars, and there arent many :P

  • Comment removed

  • when i first saw this vid i thought good finnaly they are showing the united part of the unsc but has anyone noticed the only nationality's are american austrailian hispanic south african and maybe and english guy i dnt think so- where ireland lol? and hungary? there not in any halo games its a bit dissapointing, but is nice when in halo 3 your fighting the covenant and you dont get the classic default american shouting dialogue throughout the battle. :P

  • Nice mix... Hungarian actors Galeic music

  • its good to make the vid in another language to show that not only the americans r fighting but the whole world

  • mad skill!( or luck), 4:06 he shot down the banshee :D

  • He isn't shooting at Banshee. He is shooting the Brute, but the Banshee takes a hit from something, and crashes right on Brute.

  • Go mbeannaí 's go gcoinní Dia

    iad siúd a throid 's a mhair

    a dtroideann na hÉireannaigh

  • You guys, the original is in Welsh. This one is in Hungarian. Calm down.

Gaelic is spoken in Ireland Scotland and the Isle of Man. This song is in Welsh, though a Celtic language it's Brythonic NOT Gaelic. Brythonic languages are spoken in Wales, Cornwall and Brittany, North West France.

  • This is gaelic but you spelled it wrong I know gaelic im irish

  • The song is in Welsh, not Gaelic.

  • see "We_Are_ODST" on the halo wiki.

  • Thanks for clearing that up mate =D I'll try and get the Welsh lyrics proper spelling up here soon.

  • Welsh is a related language to Gaelic. They've the same root. Same as Scottish and Manx.

  • Thankies I want this song on my Ipod but never knew what it was called till now!

Gafflwn Dihenydd Or fuddugol yn wiriol sydd, Ni fydd neb yn ein drechu, Falch ydy ni I drochu, Traed o flaen Ir Annwn, mewn y gwybodaeth fe godwn ni.

  • no w v k or y in the irish language

  • Terrible introduction. =\ I just want the song not your face lol

    the piano or organ piece

  • O where o where can I find this version of the song!? So much better than the original.

  • I am a native irish speaker and there is no y, v, w in the gaelic language

  • nice introduction. maybe just a tad lengthy but enjoyable. and yes i obviously like the video itself =D

  • alot of the words r wrong.and if u prnouce it in gealic it sounds very differant from what the words u wrote say

  • Isn't Cafe Del Mar a record label? Light of Aidan is the band and no where can I find the halo odst version. Light of Aidan's version is sung much higher. I don't speak any of these langauges used so I'm not even sure they are the same songs.

  • I waz jst bull shittin bout the last part ov that last comment, but it may be scots gaeilge.i speak irish(like i said b4!) but it defo aint irish!!!

  • Jst ta say!! i speak irish nd its not irish(gaelic). BUT!! It may b scots gaelic or! a different version ov the native language of the isle of man!

  • i tried to rip it with audacity...the drums , lovely as they are, somewhat ruined it after the rip =(

and i just realized...the lady (?) singing reminds me of Tea Dalma from Pirates of the Caribbean...

  • Thanks for the lyrics. They give me chills when i read them.

and i know some Gaelic now. Thanks dude.

  • Hey remember man, that "Gaelic" isn't spelled right! lol But hey at least you can sing it.

  • Whatever language it is it aint Gaeilic.I speak Gaeilic or Gaeilge as we'd call it.Still class song though.

  • no its gaeilic just the scottish varient

  • Its not hungarian is Gaelic.

My dad is irish and speaks it, I got him to listen to it and he said its Gaelic

  • The Army personnel are speaking what is close to Hungarian, but yes your father is correct in saying what the singer is singing, is indeed Gaelic. When I said Hungarian I many meant the army drill sergeant guy, and the man with the blind right eye in the beginning =)

  • sounds more like...

"Ga Frungi Eli Orvidi ga ah un veryusi, Eih veekni Unhind vie hadee eih ni roni, Brii ro vlii ranoon, Yunagwei vor dile vey doh du ni."

Its suposed to sound irish gaelic but after studying some websites i found the words spellings to come nowhere close to the words spoken on this video.

  • how do i get the song????

  • Very hard to find... and the version on the video is not available anywhere else.

  • its Cafe Del Mar-Light of Aidan-Lament

  • agreed i dont think many of us care about you we just want the trailor

  • I have to actually agree with you both. Only reason I did so, was this was technically for my show on here, in which I always appear first, so I thought to just follow suit and say a few words at the beginning. Sorry guys *shrugs*

  • you speak to much in the beginning

  • i knew it i had a feeling it was gaelic

  • this is really good. ive been wondering how its pronounced, its actually very similar to whelsh, which i cant speak very well, but it is similar. good job!

  • I thank you. Though it would be the next best thing if I could at least get lyrics people could sing to =D

    - The Ninja

  • i understand some Russian and i can tell you he dosnt sound Russian at all.

  • Indeed. I'm pretty sure they intended it to "sound" Russian, but it seems more Hungarian to me.

  • I guess it's east European accent...gotta love it tho. :)
