What a loving song, l use to hate this both hero before but this song blow my mind, l can't believe l listen to this more then 30 times for 3 hours and l never know when l start to crying for my country... God help nigeria and everyone who live there... prayer from Brisbane.
this is very true... WE nigerians have alot of things to give to the world but the corruption of the country would not let us do it. God gave us natural resources, human resource and brain... notthing good comes out it.......People go to schoool for better lifestyle and propersity, but no job . and that is why our young people are into 419 scam. who can blame that..... nigerian citizen have to travel abroad to work as slave to the white people.
Intro: uh uh uh Is that where you're gonna sleep? Verse 1: It seems as though we gained our independence yesterday 1960 It was the year 1960 and things were easy Both young and old rejoiced when we became free Independence indeed..see the way naira has depreciated the country is upside down Both young and old are suffering Youths can see what's wrong but they're scared to talk the older ones see what's wrong but they're too greedy
i love this song. though i can't understand it. can someone pls help me out with the translation? I could not find it on the suggested page above... PLEASEEEE!!!!
@iampuregold , they are really talking about nigerian politicians who think that they will never give up the `seat`, basically about their greed, and how they have messed things up
This is a very concrete song - solid with words of wisdom, protest, and pieces of advice. I admire your talent 9ice but you need to put a check on your way of life because at the end of the day, your attitude, marriage life and life in your closet; all these may put blemish on your fame and ultimately your story line in the pages of history. Keep on keeping on and keep your originality - that is your winning streak. Don't be mad at me for my bluntness.
@fatholysis1 I tried putting the lyrics together but 9ice's part was a bit challenging. His yoruba is too kronk for me o...will do my best to put it together though.
I was going to say that this is an improbable match-up, 9ice and Asa, but what a brilliant, unique match! Both musicians are talented beyond what the Nigerian scene can handle, and I'm not makng light of Nigerian music. Asha has already gotten smart and relocated abroad, where professional partnerships will boost the quality of her music; 9ice needs the same. He should be wary of an environment that may make him producer-composer-writer-drummer-chorus-vocalist-vendor-hustler on Ikorodu Road.
@Outreachat , i don't u really understand what you are talking about of saying if 9ice relocated abroad will be good , no way. i'm a nigerian but lived in australia but u dont know is not easy to be a black man and most of nigerian artist in abroad finally came bak to naija to publicised them self bcos oyinbo's won't be to se black man progressing and what the want is to see black. doing cleaning
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE this song.. i cannot get enough of it.. on constant repeat... i dont want it to end.. it ended tooo quickly
