@KingKiavash Thank you my friend... incredible performance. I play a lot of minor ragas on sitar because I feel this same melancholy. I think I saw similar instrument called tar in Mickey Hart's book. A wonderful book,"Drumming at the Edge of Magic" . Many blessings...........

@sitarnut You're welcome. If you're referring to the first image in the video then you are correct that is indeed tar. However what he is playing in this piece is what you can see around 5:15. Shourangiz is a relatively new instrument, some say it was first invented by Maestro Ganbarimehr around 50 years but I know the one Alizadeh is playing was made under his direct supervision. It's mixes the structural principals of Setar, Tar and Tanbur and the frets are very similar to those of Setar.
