And the grace, courage & dignity & humility with which he led his life. That has no equal in any culture or time. He is the personification of perfect life. I don't think actor who is playing role of Yudhister is doing very good job like others. He is little shallow - not like the guy who is supposed to be well knowledgeable, stubborn, confident, and whole lot of complex character.
The woman who is playing is a doing a great job. Kunti wasn't just a princess and I think she is more than a mother, ex-queen and princess. She seems to know what is going on now and - what may happen in future. Like Krishna - she must have some kind of divine power. She is doing what she was asked to do by UpperWale.

All the kings, rishis, devas and Sri Krishna stayed for an year(?) before this day. While others were allocated tasks of supervising, distributing food, money etc., Sri Krishna of His own accord took to the task of serving the brahmins including washing their feet etc. Mockery, appreciation, ignoring..all must have went on for a long span....but not a line, incident mentioned! He is also the foremost of humble.
Krishna had to what he had to because he made a promise to his aunt that he would forgive him for 100 crimes. That's is why he had to kill him and durpadi put a piece of her cloth on his finger.

sishupal was a re-incarnation of ravan! ravan was vishnus dwarpal in the heavens and cursed to take three re-incarnations in the world in a demon dynasty and bad. i cant remember the first, but the second was ravan and the third and final was shishupal. he was cursed by brahmins who wanted to visit vishnu in the heavens but were insulted. vishnu asked the brahmins that yes its good that u have cursed my dwarpal as they deserve it but do something that so they can come back to me quik
Shri Vishu has many "dwarpals", but the two that protect the inner area are Jaya and Vijaya. One day when the "sapt" rishi (the seven divine rishis who appear as children) come to see Vishnu and are stopped by the gaurds. The rishis curse the gaurds and Vishnu comes running out and begs forgiveness. The curse was to be born three times on Earth, since they were delayed by 3 seconds. Vishnu said that since they were his gaurds, he is responsible for them.
The two were born 3 times, once as Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu in the Krita Yuga, Ravana and Kumbhakarna in Treta Yuga and Dantavaktra and Shishupala in Dwapara Yuga.
Now you know why Shiva is seen as destroyer in Hinduism.

Avatars are highly realized souls who take the human form at a time when creation is getting chaotic or as Americans would say "screwed up". SriKrishna was Naraynan in a previous "yuga" (or cosmic cycle". HIS Avatar during Dwapara Yuga was to exterminate the proud and evil Kshatriyas (the ruling elite) who had made the lives of ordinary humans miserable. Shishupal was one such evil Kshatriya. His evil deeds were countless but Krishna does recount some of them before he slays him.
This "pratha" (or tradition) of washing the feet of a revered guest is called "Arghya". It is ancient. A guest (or athithi) is given a high place. Vedic tradition says "Athithi devo bhava".
When one washes your feet it is said to be the highest honour. Yudhishtir here being the new king washed Krishnas feet and honouring him as the greatest personality present!

I specifically mentioned about Krishna's acts in Gokul to make known that everything couldnot be shown. Also Krishna's acts shud not be commented in a bad way as it is the greatest sin ever. He is the Lord and nobody can seek justification to his acts. He does for a casue. It was Yudhistir's Rajasooya and not Ashwamedh. After killing kauravas, Yudhistir does Ashwamedh. An epic show has to be represented in such a way that it should be matched up to the present. If they start showing the whole reality then everyone would start following the suite which is not the motive. People have to watch this and take up the good things only and not that what someone had abused, its not so. Lord is Lord and no one can ever never think of HIS acts to be justified. Whatever HE has done is right.
Awesome dialouges, no other epic serial could compete with this one. What to say? How lucky pandavas were since they got GOD as their relative and friend and how to explain the feeling that they have had originally? Every character have done justice to the show. Nobody can ever find any error on anybody's character representation or acting or dialouge whatever...

Actually Shishupal was a very cruel person and a rapist also. He was famous for harassing women, even wives of others and molesting them. Krishna, before slaying him, lists out all of his misdeeds in the court.
Also, Shishupal was a supporter of Jarasandha who was also a cruel and unjust king and had been killed by Bheem with help from Krishna.
Why was Shishupal's offences punishable by death? He only ridiculed a few guys in a hall. Krishna said he will forgive Shishupals grave sins punishable by death 100 times. Did the offence really fit the punishment?

I have not read Narayaneeyam so i can't comment on that scripture but it was written by a great devotee of SriKrishna, so it must have been written with a lot of devotion.
Whatever Krishna did was with total detachment or "Nishkama Karma". He was an avatar. Whatever Leelas he performed in Gokul should be seen in that context. It was done not from "ego-consciousness" but from divine conscisousness.
The answer is pretty simple . Krishna took avtar to remove the notorious elements who destroys dharma . and shishupal was supposed to get mokhsya by krishna . so krishna has to kill him . it was prewritten . so he choose that trick . 100 offence .

@kmg4 dude sorry to say but even god krishna himself salute only person in this saga, and that is Bhisma. Read Gita you would know. Bhishma is one of the greatest character in world. He gave his whole life to the country without any personal interest. He remain "bramchari" for the country which will never happen in this world again. Second best man was vidur who had clean politics. Karna was great but did make some mistakes, his faithfulness was 4 his frnd. Truth n country r bigr than any friend

I don't think actor who is playing role of Yudhister is doing very good job like others. He is little shallow - not like the guy who is supposed to be well knowledgeable, stubborn, confident, and whole lot of complex character.

The woman who is playing is a doing a great job. Kunti wasn't just a princess and I think she is more than a mother, ex-queen and princess. She seems to know what is going on now and - what may happen in future. Like Krishna - she must have some kind of divine power. She is doing what she was asked to do by UpperWale.

ACTUALLY... krishna only promised his aunt that he will forgive him after 100 mistakes becuase his aunt kept begging him that if sishupal makes a mistake please forgive him and dont harm him. Krishna's finger blead only for draupadi, it was for the the obvious that he will help her when she needs him the most which krishna did. thanks divyesh for letting me know, im just gonna cross reference and ill let u know if i agree with you. thanks againx

All the kings, rishis, devas and Sri Krishna stayed for an year(?) before this day. While others were allocated tasks of supervising, distributing food, money etc., Sri Krishna of His own accord took to the task of serving the brahmins including washing their feet etc. Mockery, appreciation, ignoring..all must have went on for a long span....but not a line, incident mentioned! He is also the foremost of humble.

Krishna had to what he had to because he made a promise to his aunt that he would forgive him for 100 crimes. That's is why he had to kill him and durpadi put a piece of her cloth on his finger.

it is actual and also very significant. Draupadi's action of tearing a small piece from her cloth and Sri Krishan saying he is in debt to her for that.
Later during Draupadi Cheer- Haran, Sri Krishna pays back the debt he talks about.

sishupal was a re-incarnation of ravan! ravan was vishnus dwarpal in the heavens and cursed to take three re-incarnations in the world in a demon dynasty and bad. i cant remember the first, but the second was ravan and the third and final was shishupal. he was cursed by brahmins who wanted to visit vishnu in the heavens but were insulted. vishnu asked the brahmins that yes its good that u have cursed my dwarpal as they deserve it but do something that so they can come back to me quik

That's only partially true.
Shri Vishu has many "dwarpals", but the two that protect the inner area are Jaya and Vijaya. One day when the "sapt" rishi (the seven divine rishis who appear as children) come to see Vishnu and are stopped by the gaurds. The rishis curse the gaurds and Vishnu comes running out and begs forgiveness. The curse was to be born three times on Earth, since they were delayed by 3 seconds. Vishnu said that since they were his gaurds, he is responsible for them.

The two were born 3 times, once as Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu in the Krita Yuga, Ravana and Kumbhakarna in Treta Yuga and Dantavaktra and Shishupala in Dwapara Yuga.

Actually the Dwarpals were cursed by saptrishis thats right. But not of three seconds or something.Sri Maha Vishnu said: My dear dwarpals.You have two choices. Either be born as my bhakthas in the world for seven times. Or be born as my enemy three times and be killed by me. Dwar pals said: Oh hari, we cannot be from you for seven lives..we need you oh lord..so we choose to be born as your enemy and we accept the great honor of getting killed by you and returning to you back oh great prabhu..."

Avatars are highly realized souls who take the human form at a time when creation is getting chaotic or as Americans would say "screwed up". SriKrishna was Naraynan in a previous "yuga" (or cosmic cycle". HIS Avatar during Dwapara Yuga was to exterminate the proud and evil Kshatriyas (the ruling elite) who had made the lives of ordinary humans miserable. Shishupal was one such evil Kshatriya. His evil deeds were countless but Krishna does recount some of them before he slays him.

This "pratha" (or tradition) of washing the feet of a revered guest is called "Arghya". It is ancient. A guest (or athithi) is given a high place. Vedic tradition says "Athithi devo bhava".

Absolutely not to you. This reply was to someone else who pretended to be more knowledgeable than others. I specifically mentioned about Krishna's acts in Gokul to make known that everything couldnot be shown. Also Krishna's acts shud not be commented in a bad way as it is the greatest sin ever. He is the Lord and nobody can seek justification to his acts. He does for a casue. It was Yudhistir's Rajasooya and not Ashwamedh. After killing kauravas, Yudhistir does Ashwamedh. Check for it yourself!

An epic show has to be represented in such a way that it should be matched up to the present. If they start showing the whole reality then everyone would start following the suite which is not the motive. People have to watch this and take up the good things only and not that what someone had abused, its not so. Lord is Lord and no one can ever never think of HIS acts to be justified. Whatever HE has done is right.

Awesome dialouges, no other epic serial could compete with this one. What to say? How lucky pandavas were since they got GOD as their relative and friend and how to explain the feeling that they have had originally? Every character have done justice to the show. Nobody can ever find any error on anybody's character representation or acting or dialouge whatever...

I understand your point. But Krishna should be above feudalistic systems. If you are a king and you are a guest and you are asked to speak your mind. I just thought krishna displayed a lot more tolerance for other as opposed to shishupal. But jo honi hai woh honi hai. Just wanted a little more serious blashphemy thats all.

Actually Shishupal was a very cruel person and a rapist also. He was famous for harassing women, even wives of others and molesting them. Krishna, before slaying him, lists out all of his misdeeds in the court.
Also, Shishupal was a supporter of Jarasandha who was also a cruel and unjust king and had been killed by Bheem with help from Krishna.

Why was Shishupal's offences punishable by death? He only ridiculed a few guys in a hall. Krishna said he will forgive Shishupals grave sins punishable by death 100 times. Did the offence really fit the punishment?

This epic show especially have concentrated on the dialogues which is well suitable to the present and also creates interest to the viewers. One has to comment after knowing its complete knowledge not just like that. And no one has rights to misjudge others' knowledge by using words like KIDS...and so on...hereafter take care of what you comment and stop typing words which is not upto the morals. I have not read Narayaneeyam so i can't comment on that scripture but it was written by a great devotee of SriKrishna, so it must have been written with a lot of devotion.
Whatever Krishna did was with total detachment or "Nishkama Karma". He was an avatar. Whatever Leelas he performed in Gokul should be seen in that context. It was done not from "ego-consciousness" but from divine conscisousness.

The answer is pretty simple . Krishna took avtar to remove the notorious elements who destroys dharma . and shishupal was supposed to get mokhsya by krishna . so krishna has to kill him . it was prewritten . so he choose that trick . 100 offence .
