For those who asked, I don't believe that's a Floyd on that Strat...I'm pretty sure it's one of the mid-80's MIJ Contemporary Strats with the Fender System 1 tremolo. Used they run right around $500 (US) or so in decent shape. -Very- nice guitars.

Its in C Minor (pentatonic) or Eb Major (diatonic). The Aeolian diatonic mode is always played 1.5 steps above the first form of the Minor pentatonic in which the song is in. (this case Cm). Or so I believe.

As for knowing how to find what key a song is in. what I do is just play the first form of the Minor pentatonic scale at random places on the neck until I find one that sounds right. But I know there's a more convenient and technical way of doing it but I don't know how.

Why would you risk breaking the neck of your guitar to do a slight dive which you can do with the tremolo bar, or better yet you can put your hand underneath your tremolo system and dive it down...

i dont think that its a squire... typically i havnt seen very many squires with the maple fret board or a triple ply pick guard or the mini h on the bridge pick up... also the squires tend to have a larger headstock...thats a straight up fender through and through
