Never ever rub pencil with your fingers. ):

You have lots of oils on them which may ruin the drawing, especially if you touch the paper by accident. It's also hard to erase. If you can get a hold of a paper stump, the shading comes out much better and definitely cleaner.

and what exactly is the definition of a 'real artist'? using ur fingers to smudge helps gets the texture of the pencil shading really smooth and helps to get them in the right shade or placement as well as great for dragging dark into lighter shades. Different artists uses what works for them best. It also depends of what kind of result they are aiming for.

Good job, but might I suggest using toilet paper for smearing the pencil for shading. Some peoples skin are just too oily (me being one) to use a finger. And for the smaller models wrap the tp around the pencil tip. I got some of my art on my myspace... truemasterplayer .. if you wanna check it out send me a request. Good job tho, keep it up!

How can you draw the eye without the rest of the features? The whole eye with brow has to fit to the nose to find the arch. Are you using a model?

Sorry, work on your values. There should be about five in any given drawing (no less) and here i'm seeing 3 tops. NEVER shade with your finger! It looked messy and under developed. Not at all like a real eye. And the next time my eye brow comes THAT close to my eye? Make me shave them.
