I'm thinking of a way to get it front lid so i don't make the hdd instable. Like with some sort of reflective material strip and the rest blacked out. :P did you use the orriginal stepper motor driver? or rebuild it yourself?
@killerbeenl easy: use the reflectiveness of the disk itself! Black it out with matt paint from far away so you dont get too much an disbalance it. Before that use a diplayprotector foil to mask the part of the disk you want to reflect. Best effect is achieved if you make the spoke triangle wide at the center and sharp on the perimerter. That way the arrow will be square.
