  • i have had numerous holidays in thailand (before the tsunami) and all the land by the beach is flat as a pancake (near the hotels anyway) she would be alot safer where she is!!!

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking the piss out of this tragic event in any way, but I still cannot believe what I see when I see footage of tsunamis where people just stand there and watch. Waves are like freight trains, they take a lot of power to get going, and once going, they take a long time to stop!

  • What amazes me is not just how scary this looks at ground level (some people managed to record it right on the beach!), but how people only run as far as the wave comes in at first as though they're in total denial of whats actually happening. Must have seemed like some unreal horrific nightmare
