Wow, I'd saw you got ripped off on that amp. 1700 freaking dollars? It sounds like a tin can. No body, no meat, just bare bones. It sounds thin and bitey with any guitar you play it through. It's like a very precise surgical tool, stuck violently into my ear guts, it's painful. Honestly how do you even listen to that and think it sounds good? You might as well play out of a hubcap.
While I wouldn't pay $1700 for any amp, as I have pretty inexpensive tastes, I wouldn't say it's sound is poor, at all. You obviously don't know much about amps if you think that they all need to be beefy screamers. The sound of a Princeton is actually reproduced very well, and it's a sound that many people enjoy. Keep opinions to opinion.
@allennnnnn91 I played a Mexican classic 60s Tele once. I much preferred its neck to mine (wide & flat). Felt more like you were playing a vintage guitar. It also had vintage-style frets which I also prefer.
On the other hand, my Japanese one has better pickups (American Vintage 52) and better quality wood (from what I've heard) so I guess both guitars balance each other out.
@allennnnnn91 Hey man, the only problem i've got with the Japanese fenders is that the modern ones are made in factories that aren't owned by fender, they only have fender contracts to make their guitars, which makes the quality vary quite abit, but from what ive played, which is quite a few, Japanese telecasters are an affordable alternative to some of the U.S.A made models, which can be overpriced sometimes. They are usually, very, very good.
hey sounds great, how much was that guitar? im looking for a cheap tele reissue but the relics are really expensive and i haven't seen any regular reissues

@WoWintosh Everyone has different tastes. Some people actually ENJOY having surgical tools stuck into their ears.
And if it's annoying people on youtube, it means there must be something right about it. There's no mileage in pleasing everyone.
