  • omg your lessons really help me!

  • when i sing... my voice vibrates too much.. plz some1 give me some tip or advice

  • @AssociationHunters Define vibrate. As in shaky and cracky or just.. vibrates? Because you could just have a good natural vibrato :)

  • @AssociationHunters my vibrato isnt shaky but it cracks sometimes!

  • come to australia ?

  • what if you just have a horrible sounding voice?

  • @piggy68921 *sigh* i know how you feel..

  • @piggy68921 haha just a joke :) relax.

  • @piggy68921 learn to sing without a nasally voice? dont use your nose to sing through? work on getting rid of vocal fry? soooo many singers have horrible sounding voices but they can sing cuase they practice and practice over and over. dont listen to that douche @Dejan24194

  • @nunchukr or they could.... you know.... sing nasally ok like the guy from maroon 5

  • @blacktepes true true but i meant if he wants a clear clean voice

  • The single best vocal lesson I have ever heard. The best terminology and explanation of the processes going on in the vocal expressions. I can't say enough good about this very short excerpt. Kudos.

  • thank you!!

  • How do i exactly notice i sing with tension and not with strain? i feel like i 'm relaxed in the throat when singing, but i still get a sore throat after high notes ... ( i also took lessons for a while)

  • I love this guy =)

  • Thumbs up this if you notice hes always wearing a black shirt?

  • I used to have a similar problem, I'm naturally a baritone, but I could reach G-A4s but it was very light and airy. now I use more tension in my vocal chords so the notes sound a lot fuller :)

  • I don't get any of this. Can someone PLEASE help me? None of these videos are helping...

  • @aemm56 I don't want to plug their stuff, but if you ordered the SS programm you'd understand everything. Or maybe you could go to their website and read through all their articles. Also, use the internet to read up on "speech level singing" (SLS) and "bel canto" in general and get to know the basic mechanisms in theory - helps! Bel canto is very old and kind of the basis of everything, SLS is its younger sister.

  • kool this was really helpful i was having a problem thinking that i was singing my high notes wrong even though they felt right.

  • 3:17 cracks me up. :D

    great tip, jesse! :)

  • Another great contribution, thanks...you make sense...and that's a good thing.

  • I sing with strain in my voice to reach a "dirty" sound.. like a drive.. I can sing with a clean voice, but with this drive, straining a little bit it sounds better

  • Ya know what, he never actually changes his black T shirt, does he?

  • Great tips. I really REALLY have been singing way too long using strain to hit the notes I need to. I do "ok" and I say that not with a lot of emphasis, but I know that I could do much better with more control over my larynx. I've never done this before on Youtube, but I do have a few vocal/guitar (rock) videos up on my page. Drop by, give a listen if you can some time and just give me your 2 cents. Your criticism is welcome. (Cover of Nevermore's 'Emptiness Unobstructed')

  • All I can tell you is that I bought Singing Success and started using it and it changed my voice almost immediately. I gained more than a full octave overnight and now it doesn't hurt to sing for hours at a time. Have you guys tried it?

  • where you naturally good at singing so u can do all this (or did u start out bad and become good)?... can ppl who cant sing at all learn to become like u?

  • I would really like to hear you try and do a Michael J Fox Impersonation.

Great videos btw, they are all clear, concise and I have no problem taking in all the information and applying it immediately.

  • I don't even give a shit about the singing part of these videos... I just watch them so I can hear his beautiful voice and look at his sexiness. :D

  • Actually, he doesn't look "fairly relaxed" at all. He sounds strained and pushed. He may be hitting the notes, but there is still tension in the throat that is making the sound tight.

  • this lessons are harder than learning surgery, i really dun get it...i wish i had coaches like u in my country

  • you have a beautiful voice.

  • Wow, this teacher is great: so clear and explaining. Love him. Thanks!

  • How do you go high with compression like G-Asharp without a half chest half headvoice tone..

  • singing success is amazing. im a 12 year old singer and i have alot of problems with sraining my voice.

  • I know the difference now but I still strain.....lol...is there way to exercise tension and get rid of strain? I know I strain but do not know how to change it

  • @sh0w1to0 Yeah me too! These lessons tell you what you're doing wrong, but it doesn't really help if you already know that and you're purely seeking how to change it.

  • Am I the only guy that thinks what he is doing sounds painful, and very bad in the long run?

  • @ghostvoice88 naww, its actually..really comforable.....and it feels like you during nothing; its basicly teaching us singing in the most easist way there is...by maki ng osund

  • it's gonna be akward to do this.... :\

  • YES!!! im tension free, and now ive gotten soooooo tension free, that now whenever i try to go for volume or add a little bit of connection, it breaks! it cracks, on high or low notes, AHHHH help! I stopped screaming about a year ago and gotten into the habit of gliding up and down like the cry, but now theres no volume...

  • @Jetkimchrea what make it louder is building resaonces..i really suggest you buy singing success...before lookign at the videos so you are not so confused

  • @Jetkimchrea Hello there. We have the same problem and I just found out that we are using the falsetto register.

*It prevents loud singing except on the high notes.

*It limits available tone color (timbre) because of the simplicity of its waveform.

*It involve less physical effort and, when properly used, can make possible some desirable tonal effects.

*With modern vocal training or with special technique you can improve the quality of your falsetto register.

  • Some help PLEASE!!! Sometimes when I saing, after doing a couple songs, my jaw gets super tired, and if I pay attention after that and try to relax it, I have a hard time with it... Advice PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • forgot to say its worse when I sing higher,...

  • nigeriansista you should drink realy warm tea it helps ease the vocal cords a necck muscle alout.

  • Help plzz! i sing a lot. recently, my throat/voice has been giving me some problems like: feelings of discomfort and swallowing problems. i think its because i have been straining my voice. so, what should i do to calm the pressure in my neck and to start singing correctly.

  • 2:30 lolz

  • when i record my voice, all that comes out is that my voice sounds so much different that what I recorded.

  • I love how the YouTube e sounds

  • @FrancoLuke lmao, i actually replayed the video jus to see what u were talking bout xD

  • lol look at 3.38!

you're really the best, in any means :p

    just kidding, thx :D

  • My throat hurts after everyone of these fucking lessons! how the fuck!? how!? how the fuck do i get better after doing this SHIT for a fucking year!!!!!! AHH! fuck!

  • @8000cheese i know!!! like fuck

  • @8000cheese =))!!! YOU ARE SO NOT ALONE, dude!

  • hey, there's something i'm not quite clear about. When applying tension to the voice, is singing in mix then supposed to feel completely effortless, or are you supposed to feel, like, a pressure in your throat? what i mean is, does singing in mix feel as easy and weak as singing in pure head voice, or is it meant to feel more..solid?

  • is there any way to sing with layne staleys style? is that possible?

  • finally another tip that i found that helps :D im free!

  • Is his shirt inside out?

  • @greeky1 lmao yeah!

  • This is a great video because this issue causes a ton of confusion. Singing is very physical and the whole body is involved.

  • Ahh!! omg this helped me tons. :] This is the best tip I've heard so far. After I get un-sick and I get over this laryngitis, I'm definitely going to try to practice this. Thank you soo much!

  • This tip is so useful and appropriate - thanks J!

  • Thanks this is a great tip ^_^

  • my teacher also told me singing has to be relaxed...

i learn something from this video

    thanks!!

  • Oh my god this is the greatest advice I've heard, I tried it an hour ago in my singing lessons, and I jumped a whole octave and a half

  • how do you control your larynx?

like yall say keep your larynx in the middle, and dont move it much.

I put my finger there and it doesnt work. How the hell do you do it?!

    please help me?

  • @marissuuhWearsprada Omg I have this same problem!! HOW DO YOU KEEP THE LARYNX STABLE :(

  • This helped me heaps 'cause I've had trouble with straining when I try to hit the higher tones (I'm an alto).

  • Aw Thanks !

    BTW I love your hair.

Now you just need to make a video to help me get over my fear of singing in front of strangers.

    I fail at Karaoke . . .

    But I'm a alright singer !

    So. . .yeah. . .

  • Haha, this is such a good video!!!!

  • One of the best, most helpful tips from this entire series. Great stuff, Jesse!
