  • To all viewers: I have since released myself from ownership of both weapons in favor of more superior firearms. A Glock 19 and DPMS Mini Panther were the replacement. This was a significant improvement in reliability and accuracy.

  • It looks like the P-11 has a fairly long trigger pull, does that affect it's accuracy? I am seriously considering getting one.

  • @Chuck111485 If you live in Georgia I will sell you mine. : ) I hate the trigger, but it is not much different than any of the double action only semiautos. I have put about 1500 to 1800 rounds through mine and I still shoot it low and to left. If you can get used to it for the money is it a great gun.

  • does the bi pod lock open? looked like it was moving a bit and could allow the gun to fall?

  • No, it doesn't lock open. The best way I found to use the bipod was to grip the magazine and bring it into your shoulder for stability. Hope that helps.

  • theres a break in period for the su16 it's usually 100 to 200 rounds afterthat it's game on!

  • I just had to have one, I bid on gunbroker 2 weeks till I won one for $740 shipped plus a FFL fee yet. Just telling you the going price, Guys were out bidding me up to $850 plus shipping and FFL fee.

You should see our range in NE Pa, we got all the nuts from NY and NJ come over cause they can't have guns . The ranger has to stay there all day to pass out fines making it a unpleasent experience when I have to wait to shot the max 3 shells in your mag law at range or pay for each shell.

  • the grip looks so wierd

  • It works fine, feels fine, aims fine. Lots of things in life are weird until it is actually experienced. I like the little weapon. Thanks for viewing & posting.

  • It jammed 9 out of 10 rounds, until I replaced the extractor and extractor spring with one off ebay, now it never jams! I just shoot the cheapest .223 rounds I can find. Works fine, and the rifle is very accurate, I am very pleased with it.

It is a "poor man's AR15" to an extent- It is not as rugged as a real 15, but Id take it to the bush (with care) any day.

  • whats make you say its not as rugged as an ar15? ar15 are notroious for problems in rugged conditions. clear that up for me

    .

  • The overall build of the weapon would not permit it to take the same physical punishment as an M16. I am reflecting on the bayonet course for one. Hope that helps.

  • @rogertangodotcom

Its not made for Bayonet fighting..............

  • hey buddy how often would u get a jam in this gun?? i heard there awsome i found 1 and have it on hold at a gun store for 300 even but dont know much about it?? is there certain 223 shells (brands) ur suppost 2 use??

  • is that psg bipod?

can you put other bipods on it and not affect the full swing of the stock?

  • Its the factory bipod, the foregrip is the bipod when it is folded down. Its not great, but for one shot, it does work fine.

  • On your P-11 have you had any trouble the the dissambly guide popping out while firing? mine will pop out jamming my P-11, ive even tried adjusting the little spring on the dissambly guide, but no luck.

  • Havent had any problems as of yet, I am a light shooter, dont get to put many rounds through the pipe. It is mostly my CCW wapon.

  • Nice video, to much waiting tho.

  • Slow is smooth... Smooth is fast. Thanks for watching!

    RT

  • quick question but ...can you put an su-16c stock on a plr-16??

  • I got no clue guy, not a clue. Maybe someone can answer up if they know...

    RT

  • you can but than it is considered an SBR and you need a permit

  • I bought an SU-16C and I loved the folding capability. I also have a couple of Kel-Tec SUB-2000 folding carbines in 9mm and .40 S&W. I swapped the SU-16C stock for the E model stock. It has the PLR-16 pistol grip and accepts AR stocks. I like it better because it's much more solid and the pistol grip makes it easier to point, even if it doesn't fold anymore. I put the C stock on my new SU-22! The bi-pod forend is a clever idea but the barrel deflection DECREASES accuracy so I don't use it.

  • Good video! I was going to order the keltec 9mm sub compact pistol. What is your opinion of it before I get it? Thanks! You can check out my Pa. Groundhog video to see I'm not just wasting your time.

  • A very fine weapon! You need to put at least 100 rounds through it before it starts getting broke in. Recoil is more than a Sig .45, hand positioning and grip is crucial for accuracy, I hope to provide a video on that in the near future. For 12+1 rounds of 9mm, cant get much better for CCW. I work in corrections and carry mine all the time. Once broke in, weapon is reliable. KelTec is a good company to deal with, though mine has never been serviced.

    Horah!

  • Hi, I was wandering if you were familiar with the Kel Tec pf-9 9mm. When I went to the sports shop they had one of these also. They said its made from the p-11 in 2006. It only holds 7 in the magazine because its single stacked. Its as long and high as the p-11 but is 3/4 of a inch thick instead of 1 inch and is 2 ounces lighter. I am going to buy one of these. Thanks!

  • Yes, I have had my hands on a PF-9, I was NOT impressed. It is touted to be "smaller" than the P-11, however the frame is about the same/same, and the PF-9 is only SLIGHTLY more narrow than the P-11. Give me 12+1 of 9mm any day, I myself do not like the PF-9, but Im sure its a good firearm.

    Good luck, Horah!

  • even if i have to custom order for twice the cost, or w.e is it possible, by any stretch of the imagination... thx.

  • I suggest you contact Kel-Tec or a gun smith, they only come in one flavor that I know of, stock.

    Horah!

  • would it be possible to get a gun like this in a larger chamber, partularly a .308 winchester, i have several bolt-action rifles that use that round and i was hopin to just stick with one kind of ammunition for all my rifles, but this one looks pretty tight.

  • Check the KelTec website, also google Kel-Tec for more information on one that is in development.

    Horah!

  • cool ass range, where is this?

  • Potts Slope Firing Range in Craig County, VA.

  • I have had a SU-16C (folding stock same as shown) for about a year and a half. It is a fun little gun. They don't weigh anything and can easily be shot with one hand if needed. However, it does not like 5.56 rounds and at least 1 out of 10 jams in the barrel no matter what kind I use. Stick to 223.

  • Hey very nice video i have a couple of questions. Which magazine are you using? does it ever fall off? i have heard some ar-15 and m16 mags dont work quite well on the su-16 is that true? and is the last gun your holding the su-16 with the strap? where did you get the strap? thanks Nice video man..

  • Using standard 20 and 30 rnd genuine issue M-16 magazines, never had a problem with them at all.

Had several FTE with it until I replaced the extractor with a heavier spring, now it fires perfect every time.

Yes, .223 rounds are what I fire in it, you can get them from WalMart, etc.. etc..

The sling I got off ebay, but KelTec has them in there on-line store.

    Hope this helps-

  • this is just my personal opinion... but i think keltec sucks

  • Re 2:57...EEK

  • Dont worry, the camcorder was on a tripod! :-0

  • Does the SU-16 shoot .223 and 5.56 NATO interchangeably?

If it does, I'm totally getting one.

  • Some will say there is a difference in the ammo, but AFAIK (And being in the Army for over 16 years) 5.56 and .223 are the SAME round. I have fired both in the weapon and they appear to be identical side by side. Good luck-

  • They are the same in size yes. The heavier 62 grain bullet is harder on some weapon's rifling . The best thing is to not use the 62 grain in anything , but a Mil-Spec weapon.

  • You can fire a .223 round in a 5.56 chamber, but not vice versa. 5.56 rounds are loaded to higher pressures than .223. They reach even higher pressures when fired from the tighter .223 chamber. This increases wear and leaves little margin of safety in the .223 chamber. The advertised pressures are measured in different places for .223 and 5.56 also. The 5.56 will produce 20,000+psi over what's advertised if fired in a true .223 chamber, which has less headspace and a shorter throat.

  • Thank you for the follow up!

  • 223 and 5.56 NATO is the same ammo

  • i must ask is this pistol pretty loud? if i were to fire it inside my neighborhood would any neighbors call the cops?

  • All I can say is, its a 9mm. You decide. :->

  • You must not know much about guns, buddy. Quiet or loud, it's illegal to fire a firearm in the city limits. Stick to a Daisy BB gun. =)

  • yes it is very illegal. im in california and its a very big deal...i fired my 9mm and a .22lr all the time (i got a personal shooting range in my back yard) but the thing is that my neighbors knew me very very very well...and we lived in the desert so we are cool...other than that dont try at all would be best...thats all i could say

  • Had a P-11 once its a very light firearm but has one hell of a trigger pull long 10 pounder ( I think ) but I heard the new frame P-11 they got it down to 5 pounds but still long.

  • Nice video!
