@sebbey101 I don't remember where this flight was going. It was taken a few years ago and I do well over 100 flights a year. I know the airport it was filmed at was Houston and this is the exit row, which has be renumber since the video was filmed. I think it was seat 16A.
when you think of a 757 you think "ugh" because you know that youre gonna be sitting there w/ nothing to do for 8 hours. but now you think "yay" because you have AVOD!!...Thanks Continental!
I was on a Virgin 346 to LAX and it crashed at least 4 or 5 times during the flight. Aparently the system generates huge amunts of heat during operation.
Sorry you didn't have much luck with the AVOD, but that's the nature of computers/electronics. Sometimes they run smoothly, sometimes they don't. CO's 772ER's also have this sytem (although with a much, much wider selection of movies, shows and music), and every flight I've been on on this aircraft the system was near flawless. Even on the numerous 16-hour nonstop flights I've taken from Newark to Hong Kong, only once did the flight attendants have to reboot the system. I guess I'm lucky :-)
Hi anush10! To answer your question, no, not yet. The 757-300 will probably be one of the last type aircraft to get the system unfortunately. The first to get them will be the 737-900ERs and 737-800s that were delivered without any form of IFE whatsoever (since it doesn't make sense to install the overhead monitors only to rip them out to put the liveTV in shortly down the road). After those have been installed, retrofits on current 737NG's will take place.
To add to my last post, according to some people I know, the liveTV system is SWEET!! It'll have 80 channels, if you can believe it. Continental is setting the bar high!
CO 101 MAN-EWR is currently flown with the 757-200, so yes you will get the AVOD shown in this video! All of CO's 752's have the system in both BusinessFirst and economy.
I'm flying continental soon and i am hoping that the 757 i'm on has the AVOD, also are all the continental 757s configured with bussiness/first seats?
Same with me. I went from Cle to Lax, i was on first class with my mom, and i was like so interested in the seating and everything (this is inmature kind of but im only 12 lol)
More than 1/2 of CO's 757-200's now have AVOD in both BusinessFirst and economy. By the end of 2008 or very early 2009 all 41 of these aircraft will be fitted with the system from nose to tail.
I was on a 767 with this gadgetry from ATL to HNL. 11 hours air time westbound! Was great to pass the time watching the GPS track as well as play games :-)
I'm gonna play psychic and say you were on the nonstop Delta flight :-P. Was the entertainment system audio-video on demand (able to watch/listen to whatever you want when you want, with the ability to pause, fast forward, or rewind)?
Do they provide infight meal service on ewr-lax and back?

On the 27 of September 2008 on flight CO122Y a 575-200 from Liberty Newark to Copenhagen on had this system and it a POS!
The entertainment system crashed 3 times within a hour during the flight. Believe it or not, this is a Linux based system!
The captain excuse was there was a power surge since the APU was not working properly at the gate in Newark! BS!

I wish that they would put AVOD on all of their B656-200's. It would make the BHX/BRS/MAN - EWR flight much less boring.
davidphantomoftheope 3 years ago
Sorry, I mean B757-200'0s not B656-200's.
davidphantomoftheope 3 years ago
that must have been a small plane
romanianlover123 3 years ago
The 757-200 is not a small plane! Esp. since I'm in the ERJs most of the time.
020808 3 years ago
Absolutely correct! talking about small planes, 737 is the right one
fadrezz515 3 years ago
CO's 757-200's have 175 seats. Small? Compared to bigger aircraft perhaps so, but I still wouldn't call it a small plane :-)
