  • wow...

  • This is gorgeous! I heartly applaud Ms. Yakar's use of l'accento drammatico, a lost art at which many ignorant Italians scoff at today; "or che Seneca e mmorto": YES YES YES! This is THEATRE! Opera has died in Italy, grazie a Riccardo Muti and other bloodless, uninformed cretins.

  • I think opera reached its peak during this glorious time; the music is daring, with bold dissonance, unstructured and shifting rhythms, and highly personal subjects and situations were utilized. I would rather hear a few bars of this eternal masterpiece than most of the operas of the nineteenth century.

  • what did Rachel Yakar's say to him in 0'01''?

  • my favourite... the whole thing was mailed to me by a total stranger i met when i was 13 on irc. Rather than a pedophile, he turned out to be a distributer of beautiful music. I shudn't have given him my address though...

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I saw it years ago and loved the production. Rachel Yakar's voice is perfect for Poppea--it just drips seduction and corruption.

  • ez a legjobb Poppea előadás, nem ismerek ennél jobbat!

  • Inspired production.
