  • Sorry. I mean "Blood"!!! Hehehe

  • It's a big joke... Look at how they box, they look stupid... No sting on their punches... I think it's just another way of publicity for chess player coz' their sport is really that boring to watch so they have to do this to put a little entertainment in it... Boxing fans will be disappointed coz' knockouts and blodd are uncommon... My opinion!!!

  • yeah unfortunately they will never attract first class chessplayers or boxers. just strange people who are mediocre at both. the guy in red trunks is atrocious.

  • How about Lennox Lewis vs Garry Kasparov?

  • hehehehe

  • What is the quality of the Chess that is played? It looks like an excuse for average boxers to get publicity by moving a few pieces around.

If you are good at chess, but crap at boxing can you still win?

How is the game scored and points allocated to each boxer/chess player??

  • For the WBCO you need a minimum ELO of 1800 to compete. That is what a competitive chess player would have. The minimum is pretty close to expert level per the US chess federation classification. As for whether good chess or good boxing wins a match, you have a fair amount of both checkmate wins and KO wins. I think the checkmate wins are more common.

  • So far most fights were decided on chessboard.

  • Awesome! How about karatechess?

  • Strange sport! Like a joke.

  • If you let me participate in chessboxing world championship with all strongest super GM's I will be champion .Just let me box first .

  • It starts with chess. And you have to move (if you dont move for some time, you get a warning, second warning means DQ).

  • but it is possible to do a few moves and wait till first boxing rund. So I would win with Kasparow :D

  • How few? I don't remember the exact time limitation, but I believe you are obliged to move like every 15 seconds. If you both move exactly this time interval, you make 8 moves in the first round. That makes 24 moves in 3 chess rounds - enough for a GM to checkmate you.

  • No, that's not how chess clocks work.

You have a bank of time for the whole game, and if you run out of time before your opponent does, you lose.

So yes, against kasparov, you could just make one move every minute and go into the first boxing round.

  • I am a chessplayer myself, so I know it. BUT in Chessboxing you are obliged to move within 15 seconds. You get a warning if you don't do it. A second warning means disqualification.
