  • i readthis book it is so wonderful the book is always better

  • Respect to the Shaman...? How about those parents? Raising a child is not easy, I have so much respect for them for what they were willing to do for their child! Most people would not have done anything close to that!

  • Mongolia is most beautiful and mystery country

  • respect Mongolia

  • I had to watch this in my child care class at school. And it had me crying

  • so sweat. thats what horses can do for a kid <3

  • i understand him though. i love horses

  • questo splendido film-documento tratta dell'autismo con una crudezza, una forza ed una potenza d'amore che solo la verità può permettersi. Naturalmente in Italia è semisconosciuto...

  • For those who dont know, this film was made with one camera man, a director (both of whom were friends of the parents) and a professional sound man. It was documented incase the childs condition improved so that they had records of it. Not to be released as a film.

  • Oh, Rowan is beautiful

  • loving the book, amazing story, amazing family, amazing kid.

  • Beautiful!

  • i'm reading the book. it's so inspiring!!thank you rupert for writing the book. how is rowan!!the book is so touching. horeses r my fave animal and i will never beable to get as close emotionally with a horse as rowan has!!it's amazing

  • From watching Temple Grandin to the Horse Boy I wanted to cry at both of those movies because they inspired me to become a better person. I graduated from High School this past may and these movies just opened my eys so much to see through someone's eyes of thier autism or whatever neurological difference they have and help them however I can

  • <3

  • lovely movie

  • Just came across this, it answers so much. It has been proven that autistic people riding horses goes in snyc with their brain. What an amazing and emotional film - it helps alot for other families out there wanting alternatives to medicating their child. I cried watching this.

  • Looks intriguing. I hope the boy was healed and all is well with you.

  • wow! great book and movie!

  • it's not healing,it is spiritual(shamans), yes, but not healing. devol lies. after this 'healing" boy will have more spiritual problems. feel sorry for him....only God may truly heals.

  • Awwww <3 I Almost Cried

  • I have the social side of autism this movie looks amazing.

  • i havent read the book but this movie is incredible!

  • This movie is magic...

  • That's my country.... I liked this movie...

  • This movie was. Astonishing. I was blown away and so moved by some parts.

Like when he puts the horse all alone in a box. I couldn't help but holding back some tears. This. Is. So. Special.

  • Anyone know the movie with a story with a boy with autism who got healed after years of support with his family and in the end the boy(healed) asks from another boy who was sitting close to him to through him the ball but the mother of him told to the healed boy "not everyone is lucky as you" something like that. Sorry if it`s not the right section to ask this.

  • btw im mongolian shaman too.and just want to know how is he now.if anybody know write comment pls

  • Looks like a great movie. Read the book and loved it :)

  • This looks amazing I'm so gonna read the book and see the movie ASAP! I'm gonna be working as a peer tutor in my high school where I'm gonna help the special ed class and I talked to the teacher about it and she said the would be wonderful, and one of the field trips the go on are to her horse farm where the students get to ride on her horses and she said that they love going to the horse farm. I'm so excited to be a peer tutor!!! :)

  • I'm from Mongolia. And watched this movie and really touched by it.

  • where i can watch this movie..???

  • jkirk, I think he's trying to spread awareness. Even though more than 1 in 100 children have autism, most people still don't know what it truly is.

  • loved the book

  • I read this book!! wow! amazing!

  • is this real

  • Loved the movie - it has helped me with my son and family. thank you

  • omg i love this im like crying

  • que hago aca.....en medio de este infierno????

  • how can i go to this place how can i find this place i have son like that please help me to fing the place or call me iam living sweden 0046735596616 hares

  • Saw it. Ultimately, I'd give the film a thumbs up. I'd never question a parent's love for his child. You have to wonder, though, a full on camera crew hints at exhibitionism. Although, making films is how this guy makes his living, so he's providing for his fam, esp if the film's a hit or leads to more. So, even if it's crass grandstanding, I believe he's doing his best to make a better living for those he loves.

  • I love the book ♥

  • I watched this... caught it by accident. I was moved to tears during many parts. I am a preschool teacher and this was so inspirational to me!

  • The official european edition DVD is now available at wwwDOTgilliannaysmithDOTcom

  • I have to get the DVD. This sounds like the kind of movie I like. One that touches you at a deep level, creating an opening for healing and transformation.

  • His mother says everything at 1:38. I totally agreed we think in such a manner that is so easy to say we are the normal ones. And many times is a contrary. Thank God for this parents having such an enormous heart and sensibility.

  • wow, amazing... I need to try this with my son. Can't afford to go across the world.

  • @SamathaSantiago From what I heard, this family had started a autism program in their home town, with their own horses. You will find this closer to home.

  • it's a great movie, trailer with a great song. But above all, this is just such an inspiring story. I'm reading the book now and have seen the movie. I have the deepest respect for all of you who embarked in this journey.I wish all the Atkinson family the best. You have inspired deeply, and I hope that Rowan keeps progressing...All the best!

  • Is this a real story? i can't see if its real or not by just watching the movie

  • I saw this on tv the other night and I it really touched my heart. It was very interesting. And what lovely and caring parents this boy has :) I

  • Very excting :) Respect to the Shamans

  • this movie was on independent lens, May 11 in Pittsburgh area

  • Wow.Just the trailer alone makes me burst into tears because, as a 15 year old independent filmmaker having to a 9 year old autistic brother, I FEEL THIS. I have produced a couple of documentaries myself, but I have always been wanting to do a special one solely on my brother. Unfortunately because of lack of money, this hasn't been so. Few know what families with autistic children go through and I haven't seen much films that portray this feeling as strongly as this film does. Thank you.

  • how boring. I voted the movie(N)

  • The Psycho-Spiritual warfare against Humanity itself! While all the Cures and Solutions have always been here, they are Free! But most People have been Blinded & Infected! They want your Mind, Sweat, Blood & Soul! The time have come, its Gameover! Wake up! Open your Eyes, Ears and open your Mind! Free yourself! Free Humanity! Before its to late! There is no time left! Spread the messages & words!

  • The cause of Synthetic Toxic Poison Chemical Pollution, Unnatural Processed Foods, Non-Stop Brain-washing, Discrimination, Genocide, Hierarchy, Externalization, Delusion, Deception, Distraction & Racism etc. The total Demonetization of Spirituality and the denial of Human existence of Nature itself. This is Unnatural behaviors! its called Alienation of Humanity!

  • I have been almost like this kid. Its not Autism, but Intism, not Outsider but Insider! Autism doesn't exist! Its caused by the instability, disharmony & imbalance of the whole of modern western global society or civilization! These things would else never occur or even happen! Children get at early age ripped away from their parents to school, while parents always need to take care for their children not school! Thats a natural law!

  • It looks very beutiful yes

  • I'm reading this book at the moment, and it's absolutely inspiring... What an amazing thing they did for Rowan. Beautiful story :) xx

  • The song is 'That Home' by The Cinematic Orchestra

  • @ksnyde85 Thanks for the answer but you only need to enter your comment once. Thanks!

  • @ksnyde85 ... actually the song is "To Build A Home" which is the opening track from cinematic orchestra's 2007 LP called Ma Fleur. "That Home" is a reprise of "to build a home" that appears later in the album.

  • The song is 'That Home' by The Cinematic Orchestra

  • @ksnyde85 Sorry, it's the song, 'That Home'

  • The song is To Build a Home by The Cinematic Orchestra.

  • Wooow, this is amazing!!!

  • That's absolutely miracle!

    Love this film.

  • brilliant!!! 5 STARS!!!

  • wow im from mongolia .. =)

  • im reading the book at the moment :)

  • Yes, it is based off of a book, I am reading it now. I myself am autistic (what they call high-function autistic) so I find this book very touching. As Rowan connects with the horse my connection is music. I wish my parents were more like his parents. I love the dedication they have for him and his autism! Best of luck to Rowan and his family!!

  • I have not seen the movie yet. Supposedly, it'll take a couple of months for it to get to Switzerland's cinemas, but I read the 400 pages of the book in almost one go, it keeping me spellbound.

    Not to be missed!!!

  • Such a beautiful movie !

  • I'm the opposite horses scares me and I scream alot too

  • @underground141 It is a good thing that they scare you because you do not know the horse and you would have to take time and be interested in the horse - watch - get to know the horse and let the horse get to know you - then comes a time when both of you are OK....

  • Does anyone know the song which starts at 1:10?

  • @millsy1979 I would very much like to know it too!

  • @millsy1979 The Cinematic Orchestra - To Build a Home

  • @millsy1979 To Build a Home by The Cinematic Orchestra

  • verry nice video five stars.

  • Very Touching! Some how Mongolian Shaman has mysterious power! This is just great!

  • This is an absolute must-see documentary. Inspiring, insightful and intriguing.

  • This is an absolute must-see documentary. Insightful, inspiring, intriguing.

  • so is this a documentary or is it a movie based on a book?

  • There's a book called "The horse boy" by Rupert Isaacson and he wrote about his journey to Mongolia with his autistic son Rowan. And a film crew came with them so this is the documentary about the journey which is also "available" as a book. Hope you understand what I mean.

  • It's a documentary

  • @killingallthefiles

    Documentary

  • It is a documentary.

    And it's awesome!!!!

  • didnt u see it said new york times bestseller

"the Horse Boy" so its definitely based from a book or else it wont be called ny times bestseller

I love it!!! I hope I get the chance to see the movie some day!

  • ¿ Dónde puedo encontrar esta película en español?

  • I read this book last month and I was touched by it. I'm from Germany and haven't seen the movie - just found the trailer and I was ALREADY a part of it since I "knew" all the places. I am going to a school to become Occupational Therapist and my teacher told me that I shoudn't even think about working with animals. It wouldn't work. I don't care! Never believe anyone decrying something! I'm very interested in autism, I love horses and the Lion King! :) Great book. Hope to see the movie soon!

  • that is so cool i was afraid of horses but amazed by them when i was 3 i told my grandpa that i liked horses and he grabbed me and put me on my aunt's horse and i was screaming but now i can ride and i am not afraid

  • This movie looks so good, can't wait to see it! As a horse lover, I can say without a doubt there is healing to be offered from horses and other animals, it's just a matter of opening the heart and mind.

  • I have a 2 years and a half autistic son, and I don´t know if watching this movie, if it is very depressing or has a sad ending..

Would you be so kind of sending me a message (in order not to spoil the movie) with this information. I think I have enough with my situation and would like to watch if it is healing for the soul, and not otherwise. Thank you.

  • i heard the father on npr today. this is a great story

  • there are parts of the movie that are sad, but overall, it is a message about healing the "horse boy" AS WELL AS healing his parents (guilt, frustration, etc.). it's uplifting and inspiring. i think parents of autistic children should definitely see it. it would be a mistake to NOT watch this film!

  • Watch it :) It will not leave you depressed--very touching. One of the most beautiful movies I've seen to the day!

  • the movie does have its sad moments but it isnt depressing at all... im going to say watch it! its a very uplifting movie

  • Hello.

this movie is not very depressing. i only say this. the ending is not depressing. or sad.

Good luck with your life and i hope you and your son have good life.

  • I saw this film and thought it was so beautifully done. I cried throughout the entire film! Can anyone tell me the name of the song that is playing in the trailer? It is in the movie as well. The song toward the end of the trailer with the lyrics "for you, for me..." Thanks!

  • Build a home - Patrick Watson

  • Respect to the Shaman who cured Rupert's kid.

  • this is so moving, i really want to see it

  • My son is high functioning autistic - and 9 years old. We have experianced the same interaction as Rowan and his Dad. Great book and can not wait for the movie to show in the Carolinas. My son's "Boss mare 'Tenn. Walking Horse is a real blessing.

  • touching....

  • The movie if you havent already seen it : )

  • I have autistic twins, I've seen the movie and I am devastated. I can't do anything more for my girls than what I have and our family is breaking apart. So glad for this family though!

  • kindredspiritPA - Don't be devastated! Not all parents can go across the world. I think that this book is amazing and I admire that family so much. It should not devasate you it should give you hope. I have not gone across the world but I have reached my son who has Autism..it is amazing what you can do with what is available to you..when you have a powerful love inside you. That is what will help your children.

  • A movie you might want to see if you havent already seen it : )

  • i want to see that,

the book is also in my list :)

  • wow. i will see that definitely

  • I have read the book. So beautifull it moved me to tears. I wish the Isaacson family all the best. A big and loving hug to you Rowan.
