  • are you folks hiring?? I"m in arizona and would love to start a santuary like this

  • Is that Ramah Lake in the background? Good trout fishing there? I almost bought some land in Candy Kitchen, Pine Meadows area. Looks really nice. I ended up buying near St Johns, not too far away to the West. Are visitors allowed. Thanks and stay warm, 73 today in PHX, shorts and t-shirts.

  • I cant agree with you more there beutiful but there wild im still in middle school but through a lot of resurch I know that wolves are not a good house pet but what you do is fenominal!!!!!

  • These are captive wolves & as such much of their behaviour can be distorted or exagerated due to boredom, frustration, conditioned reflexes or the inability to escape conflict. Also they are unable to hunt which is extremly important for predators, not only psycologically for the wolves but also in the regulation of the hierachy. Add to this the reduced size of their territory & their inability to control events there in can & does lead to behaviour that is not seen in the wild.

  • This guy is so awesome I wish I was him i am thinking on emailing him what do you guys think

  • I love wolfs

  • This man is my new hero. I love people like this and wish to one day work for/with one. Wild animals are so amazing and need to be respected, and its up to us as human beings to make sure that the people who dont understand that learn.

  • I'd love to be a part of this. I'm going to put my volunteer application in today.

  • Great work friend!

  • what kind of job is this.I am looking for a job that involves being outside and not inside all the time. what kind of job would you recomend for me

  • People will, and have, kept wild animals as "pets". How do you think we got dogs? but people try and keep them as they would domestic animals ( let them sleep in their bed, feed them dog food/cat food...etc.) instead of adjusting to their special needs.

Although i prefer keeping them as companions then as trophies, dont you?

  • @NeoNekoPup

Look, it it is a dumbass decision to try to keep a wild wolf like a domestic pet. Idiots like you are the kinds of people that feed wild animals (wolves) and then, this leads to (rare) wolf attacks because it thinks that humans are givers of food. So it goes up to a person that won't give them food, and then the wolf gets agressive with that person, then boom, attack.

    Leave your ignorant fantasy.

  • @nintendojesse there IS a way to correct people nicely. I MEANT that we should stop using wolves and other animals as sick stuffed trophies and regular pets and put them in santuaries like this, but if they are not an issue then leave them alone. If I lived in a place that had wolves, they would be for observation, and I WOULD NOT FEED THEM. Wild animals are WILD and nothing else. Sorry if you got the wrong drift of my comment I dont fantasize like that.

  • I sure wish that Leyton would give those of us who CAN "do it right" a nod. WSWS does a great job educating, but I completely disagree with Leyton's absolutes. Domestically raised wolves and high content wolfdogs who have been generationally bred as companion animals can be exemplary companions to those who are willing to do change their lives in order to meet the animals' needs. Not everyone who owns a wolf or a wolfdog are blind fools who don't know what they are doing.

  • I agree wholeheartedly with this video. When will people learn what wild animals are WILD and it is unfair to kill them for behaving in a way that comes naturally for them. It is us humans who are in the wrong...for trying to trap and change them into domestic animals. I am thankful for people who are making providing for the animals a priority. Thank you for your work.

  • Youtube is a very good tool these days, but it is also full of nonsense , especially about Wolves and Wolf Hybrids. Leyton is one if not the number 1 educator in Wolf rescue and this vid hits the nail on the head.

  • i love this video we support wolves and all wildlife thank you for educating people about wolves

  • I wanna do this when i grow up. What kind of pay would you get? What are the requirements? This is awesome that people do this

  • so funny when that wolf tried to take the paper :D hahahah he was like HA! I GOT IT! >:D lolz

  • We have a two wolfs we raised.. There sweet as can be and loving as can be.. They love us alot.. and we love them.. Problem is people get wolfs when they dont have the funds and open space to raise this animals.. They are very easy to train and very obedient.. Owning any animal takes alot of responsibility and time.. wolfs just take alittle more..

  • What this guy said about wolfs being dangerous is not rly true . When i was young , my father founded an injured wolf in a trap.He took cared for him and for some reason when the wolf healed he stayed with us . We tryied few times to release him back into the forest but he kept coming back. I remember even now playing with him ...he was like a dog .We never chained him and we took good cared of him.He died many years ago ( mby he was to old ) . I miss that wolf :(

  • im going there in 2011 in the summer!Going to new mexico for my 2nd time! im so exited i cant wait. i love wolves people need to stop killing them! Awsome video! :D

now i get to learn about this place before i go there. THANKS! :D

  • dude I respect this guy,not knowing him personally but because you can tell he a wise & good person contributing alot to this world

  • In my eyes what you guys do is Nobel prize winning. If only more people would realize that we ARE nature's caretakers, and we need to learn to take care of it better. Thank you for all you do. It's really inspiring to see. =]

  • How do i go about working at the wild spirit wolf sanctuary? I want to do all i can to help

  • You are an incredible human being Mr. Leyton. May God Bless you and your organization.

  • Comment removed

  • This guy must be very lucky to have this job.

  • Thanks for the work you do, Leyton. It is so sad we have devastated and created a virtual holocaust on the original wolf , Indian and buffalo territory. The settlers just came and took and felt entitlement to an area that belonged to these civilizations. You are awesome to provide a safe environment for these superb beings.

  • whoa, we humans should totally be like wolves!

  • so many people rlly misunderstood wolves, those people should watch this vid, having a wild wolf as a pet in home is wrong !

  • Good movie. Education is the key to the survival of the wolf. People don't know that much about these creatures and thats why they end up killing them. I think its stupid that you can own a hybrid. It should be against the law because a lot of people don't understand that it's not a dog.

  • Is anyone else having audio issues with this video? I would really love to hear what he has to say, but alas, NO SOUND is coming out of my speakers for this video. AM I THE ONLY ONE???

  • you are only one

  • Great video

  • Great vid man. That god for people like you.

  • 1. god is fake

    2. wolfs should be pets

(i own one, 3 years old, not a gay hybird,

and i am not thinking on abandening it....

they are not like dogs that true but they are not that diffrent....)

  • People who say Wolves should be pets don't deserve to own a wolf. This guy cares for them because he has to. You on the other hand own one because you think its cool. Were did you get it a online breeder. I grantee you got a husky mixed with a low contect wolf. Because let me tell you WOLVES at nothing like Dogs, So either you are lieing or you have a Low Contect Wolf Mix

  • ...ah....

    1. its not a hybird cuz it was cought by a friend

2.i dont really care is it cool or not, i like then cuz they dont want to please you like dogs.... -_-

  • LOL by gosh man you are a Terrible Liar LOL. Its not a Hybrid because it was cought by your friend LOL RIGHT. Dude dang that is such a bad lie lol.

1.First theirs know way your friend caught a wolf, because Wolves seldome show them self to Humans they can smell you from 100 miles away. Way before you see them.

2.And don't try and tell me your friend caught a wolf pup because wolves (NEVER) leave their pups unguarded. They will defend them to the Death.

  • for some reason it didnt post comment i writte 3 hours ago,

    ok,

your 3. is same as my 2.

and he did catch it... -_- , -_-

i dont think he would give me a hybirn since i got it for free...

and my parents cant tell me really what i can and cant own, -_-!,

oh and i live in serbia, meaning they dont give a shi* if i own a wolf... -_-

  • 3. Wolves don't try and please humans YET they don't try and be friendly to them either. More than likely they will grow up to try and kill you for Domonance and spray your whole house with PISS as they always do it Cativity.

    4. Even if your friend did catch a wolf, I know your parents wouldn't let you keep it. Plus its illegal.

    5. LOL that was still such a bad lie am sorry but, everybody is going to be laughting at your comment when they read it

  • This is a great video.

  • keep up the great work...Mel

  • ty for a great and informative vid, animals are not toys or objects to own, they have to be viewed as companions, and some just need to be left alone. visiting a wolf sanctuary would teach many people the proper respect due a wolf or hybrid.

  • Thank you for a great video and wonderful job!

  • très très beau parc.

    merci de les proteger.

  • Good work, thanks for this information.

  • beautiful :)

  • Excellent video. I'm really glad there are people like you in this world. Many more are needed to keep the worlds animals safe. Thanks for all you do.

  • Simply BEAUTIFUL. Thanks for sharing.*****

  • They are beautiful, thank you so much for rescuing them.

  • Very informative. Thank you for helping this incredible creature with your excellent work. Gail

  • Great video and rescue center. It's so wonderful that you are rescueing these captive bred wolves and telling the truth. When will people learn?

  • Thank you, Leyton, for this most informative and heartwarming video.

The wolf is in peril! Ranchers want them dead, hunters want to shoot them for sport, and Sarah Palin intends to allow them carte blanche to do so.

With much respect for saving these beautiful creatures,

    cdl

  • thank you...

  • Thank God for people like you and your

sanctuary. The plight of these awesome

creatures is so sad, with the aerial

shooting, trapping etc. Thank you for

educating the public, I wish you success!

Thank you rockinfor the planet for

    sharing.

    5***** faved & shared!

  • Excellent educational film. Your mission is an honorable one and it is good to hear one speak of the Wolf for what they truly are. Sadly, your comment about mankind being the caretakers of nature is one that rarely occurs to millions. May you have continued success in your project!!

    Favoriting this video.

  • THANK YOU !!!

  • this was great

  • Excellent work!! Sharing, favourited and 5 stars to you and your team, thank you especially for educating the younger generation :):)

  • wow, magnificent maria, thanks for sharing this powerful video. Love you girl!

  • wise words from a wise man

  • tank you for loving animals... and all of the words you are speaking are wise and smart and u are an animal lover. we need more people like u in the world.

  • It looks like a good project to save the wolves and keep them in a pen. I think part of our problems in Idaho are because wolves were bred in captivity and fed by humans and now they have no problem going to ranches and eating calves. That and they have a lot less elk these days after the winter we had a few years back. Funny though if you went to my kids school and asked if anyone had seen a wolf 50% of the class would raise their hands.

  • only if the pen is big, and enough food and space

  • Nice video, nice to see that someone is doing something for the wolves that wind up as "pets" and then get discarded because of their nature.
