  • Too bad we'll probably never see Rampage vs. Shogun 2

  • Rampage is actually bigger than couture but he still fights at 205.

  • cmon rampage.. how you gonna outbox toney with that

  • @chaosinesco You do realise this video was taken 3 nearly 4 years ago, his boxing has only improved since!

  • @Cagiva4616 i was a rampage fan before he ko'd chuck, also was such a fan i payed 60 just to see him knock the shit out of wanderlei at ufc 92. However i have been a boxer my whole life and the only way rampage would win against toney is because James is waaaay over the hill, hasnt been a serious contender since he was a middleweight, punch drunk, low testosterone levels fat etc. Even at that hed still make rampage look like a girl in the ring

  • @Cagiva4616 Even if it has improved, which I dont doubt it has, it still is not even close to the level of Toneys. having said that, Toney is so over the hill and not to mention just looking for a pay day to ever be taken serious in any combat sport. I mean, not that anyone thought of bringing in a Boxer to beat a MMA fighter to begin with, Toney is not the person to represent Boxing in a fight against a mixed martial artist. Someone like a James Kirkland, Sergio Martinez or Pacquiao would be.

  • i used to be in the marines so for the guys saying we could beat these guys lmao stfu we would get knocked out cold. fucking POGS

  • fuck i wanna spar these guys sooo bad , you dont even understand it

  • fantastic technique and an awesome pace, power can be applied so easily when training it is really nice to see guys that understand that. the point when training is not to swing full on at your training partner that would cause your entire academy to suffer from injuries on a very regular basis. thy are lettting each other work and finish there combos. fantastic video.

  • I really wish we could've seen these two throw down

  • such losers ! poor strikers ! in fact they are grapplers = gay rapers = HOMOSEXUALS !!!!!

  • @albmyslim rampage is a grappler? lmao

  • @albmyslim someone is very jalous...

  • where do u buy the shorts that couture is wearing?

  • @1958j you can buy them online look under muai tai or kick boxing shorts.

  • @1958j You dont. Those are the season one Ultimate Fighter shorts.

  • put your head gear on old man. stop trying to prove how tough you are at an old age... i'll be surprised if coutour lives to see 65 the way he acts

  • @futurefields wtf is wrong with u dumbass the lighter fighter has to wear head gear thats why randy is hw and rampage is lhw u fuckin hater

  • make no mistake about it

Couture gets KO'd brutally and possibly killed in the 1st round against Rampage

Rampage is an elite LHW top 3 in the world. And he has the most power EVER in the LHW division in his punches. Heavy hands don't begin to describe how hard he hits

  • @jack11643 Thats why Evans DESTROYED Jackson, cause Jackson had so much power.

  • @nojokenygren brother I dont agree with that guy that Couture will get KOd by jackson, but Rampage HAS got the heaviest punches in LHW division, but and again that doesnt mean your the best fighter ever you got punching power, but if you seen the fight, in the 3rd round, a punch came out of no where put Rashad Evans down(who hasnt been kicking rampages ass the whole way through) so yeah, Evans didnt even get to finish the fight

  • @nojokenygren there was no destroying in that fight, that fight was a letdown

  • @nojokenygren

    lol evans didnt destroy jackson.

It went to the fucking decision...lol..since when does decision fights count as being destroyed lol!!

  • @nojokenygren that makes no sense bud, Evans didn't destroy Jackson, he ran away from him a cage hugged for 3 rounds which is fine, but if you're gonna do that don't talk shit and tell people that you're gonna knock ppl out. Rampage would rape Evans after he gets a few more fights under his belt and his ring rust off. Evans is a disappointment and shouldn't be getting his title shot after two crap fights where he almost got knocked out in the 3rd (both fights) Evans is maybe 5th in LHWD

  • @ShatterEffectt I was jokeing brother.

  • empty soda can? thats a new one....lame but new

  • thats not rampage faggot

  • yes it is.... thats rampage

  • it looks like his style, but since when has rampage wore thai shorts?

  • hahahah fyte4luv808 you're hilarious its easy to talk shit about these guys and its not easy to fight and have a long string of wins in the ufc. You're fucking dumb if you think rampage is washed up

  • And yet both can still crush you and most 205'ers like an empty soda can.

  • The guys you sparred with in the Marines are NOT on the same level as Jackson and Couture.

And as far as Rampage, There are maybe only three guys at 205 that he can't beat right now. His decision to leave UFC was about being frustrated by the way they operate, not because he was "losing his touch."

  • @xerxes465 Top Amature Marine boxers are probably quite a bit better than EITHER of these guyz as far as boxing ability overall... So i don't know what your talking about.

  • @Gooseman2k2 Do you still remember the first time u got dropped in your head as a baby? cause if it didn't make you uglier than what you probably, I definitely made you dumber than you were meant to be. Have some respect for real fighters, champions and legends and go back to your mama's basement to play with your GI Joes and fantasize of men wearing military clothes.

  • @MrCalvo54 Nowhere in that rediculous paragraph do i see any mention of what i am wrong about...

  • @xerxes465 Emm not he fired :/

  • @xerxes465 Rampage Legend Forever

  • @fyte4luv808 LOL IM SURE. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

that was the funniest fucking thing ive ever seen on youtube

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

ive actually got tears in my eyes, well atleast you made someone cry... HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • vera is pretty good. your writing off a good a fighter.

randy had a tough fight with nog. nog is the second best hw of all time. he had staph infection bad against mir

  • man you really sucks

  • @fyte4luv808 lol

  • randys tuff sparring with no head gear on..with rampage

  • ranady is still dangerous to any fighter except to fedor.all other must be very careful because randy has fighter heart!

  • @supralee correction he has the heart of a mma god

  • :)of course:)

  • you guys are right age does have a factor but remeber in college he wrestled at 175 and 185 and he said that wasnt to hard hes a superior athelte hell be able to keep cuttin down to 205 forsure

  • I think Randy might be over trained. He might be doing more harm than good with his long intense workouts. He looks malnurished. Like he's lacking something. Pale. He looks smaller everytime I see him. I know someone who made that mistake.

  • right he does same mistake as mony old man does they train more than its needed in youth that may be okei but in that age you became slower and slower by such a way:)

  • Comment removed

  • the best is 2:31 when rampage shows coutoure what a nice combo feels like.

  • pretty important I mean if you have a solid ground/grappling game the only other aspect youll need to cover is stand up., and boxing can be a good start. Just look at bj penn, amazing jiu jitsu and great boxing and hes #1 in his division.

  • fisticuffs is a necessary and integral part of MMA; ask yourself: what just happened to Demian Maia?

  • last time i checked every fight starts standing up.

  • I think he would have done better sparring with Fedor. He sparred with him before!!

  • Brock > Couture > Fedor. Couture in his prime would have probably beaten Brock. Fedor is way too overrated. Hes a good fighter, hes taken out big guys, but I don't think he'll last long in the cage.

  • Couture got rocked by Nog, do you really think he'd last 5 minutes in a cage or ring with Fedor? The guy is faster, throws harder, and is a strong finisher. Couture's got nothing on Fedor and never did, get that garbage out of your head.

  • he is just not as good as he was he is the way slower than he was and of course he is losing his weight too much.beside he is just good wrestletr and as fedor is better in ground and in standing there is no way even for one happy strike for him.

  • Comment removed

  • this is to you heretik21. Nogueira is closing in on his prime now. when fedor fought him nog was in his twenties. A fight dont prime until 33/34 some never prime at all. There is a dividing line between at your personal prime, and being just clearly better than ur career opponents. Example rogers=9 fights vs fedor 30+ fights

  • at 30 ur prime is often

  • how when most people go pro around 25-28? The skill gap is not great enough. AS I SAID, its different to be just fuckin better. Fighters who are just fuckin better are= Rampage, shogun, GSP, BJ Penn, and maybe Werdum. They arent the fastest and strongest their ever gonna be yet.

  • Fighters peak at around 28. Fedor fought Nog when they were BOTH 27, and again when they were BOTH 28. When fighters reach 33/34, they start to DECLINE, especially when they have been in as many wars as Fedor and Nog. Injuries begin to rack up, and vicious shots begin to take their toll.

  • @batmanufc18 Big Nog may have been sick against Mir, but lets face it, in a rematch Mir would just pick him apart just like he did in the first fight. every prediction guys believes it would be just like the first fight!

  • @jagdjohn96 i think it would too, i mean mir has the better striking and the ground games are close i dont think nog can submit him so how would nog possibly win? possibly by decision but i couldn't see that happening.

  • @ihatebobsaget1989 Mir also has the takedown advantage over Nogueira, so Nogueira would most likely get outclassed again

  • i wish randy was about 10 years younger because theres still alot of intriguing fights for him still i think

  • Did anybody see Griffin/Silva last week?

Well if you did, Rampage would get the same treatment Griffin got, he just might last a LITTLE longer but it would be equally embarassing.

  • guesser

  • with randy vs lesnar, technique wise randy is the better man, with lesnar not trailing to far behind. Lesnar however is able to bring is small lack of technique (compared to randy's) to the top with his size strength and power.

  • i agree

  • If a wrestler does not get cought in a submission or by a punch, he may be the winner...

  • you better be fuckin kidding any ufc fighter could kick the living shit out of you fucking pussy

  • any wwe fighter could too so thats not fake either?

  • ur dumb!!!!!!!!!

  • ur a fake u tough internet gangster

  • hahaha i know man internet gangster

  • this guy wins d internet :D

  • GSP's the best wrestler in MMA thats why hes a champ and Mir is the interm champ Lesnar is the real champ whos a wrestler but it doesnt dominate completely just sayin you do need to have it

  • you know nothing...shut ur face...evans is a wrestler and got his ass handed to him...so fack off!!

  • haha me?

  • Evans isn't as well rounded as GSP, either. Lesnar lucked into a free title shot and then got lucky because he got to fight a 44 year old guy that hadn't fought in 13-14 months that was 30 lbs lighter than him or more. Mir will tap his ass out again.

  • actually couture is 49 i believe lol

  • Couture is going to be 46 when he fights Antonio Nogueira in August...

  • yeah my bad

  • your so gay! lesnar will crush that cocky fucker like he was doing b4 he slipped up!

  • Lesnar won't "crush" anyone that's good. And BTW, YOU + ARE = YOU'RE.. moron.

  • why is that? he crushed couture! and dont come up with excuses because couture would have beaten anybody else.

  • Couture is 44 years old, 40 pounds lighter than Lesnar and hadn't fought in well over a year.. i wonder why he looked so bad.. HMMM.

  • If Lesnar didnt catch Couture with that lucky punch, couture wouldve taken that fight by descision

  • and beat his face with 37 hammer fists right after

  • dude , they had like three rounds left , dont bs :p couture knew , everyone knew , catch him one good time and thats it. He would've done it eventually so :) Couture doesnt stand a chance against such a dude , looking forward to nog fight.

  • randy (lol randy what a name) should just give up,he is too old and it gets boring watching this old man fight

  • randy couture is one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, he is 46 years old and gave Lesnar a hard time during their fight, and so far Randy was the only fighter to stop some of Lesnars takedowns and control him on the fence so i suggest you shut the fuck up and learn something before you talk shit about MMA's greatest veterans.

  • Ha you funny. He didn't control Lesnar, Brock beat the shit out of him.

  • he controlled Lesnar on the cage watch the fight again.

  • When was Randy on top? When you say controlling do you mean hedidn't let him smash him until the second round? Is that what you mean?

  • Comment removed

  • you must be living in a dream land boy, watch the fight again. ufc has went to the dogs over the last few years since pride ended. Half the match ups are terrible.we shouldn't have to watch these old guys anymore.

  • well said

  • @inov8or no such thing as a lucky punch he threw it to hit randy and it did end off story

  • @cockyjeremy excuses

  • haha finally, somebody who knows what thier talkin about

  • this would be an awsome fight if they ever had one i think randy would win though

  • jackson would knock randy the fuck out bud haha...get your shit right...

  • hahaah no randy would drop rampage on his head and lay some brutal ground and pound fag

  • Comment removed

  • If you look at MMA today I think wrestling is the best. Good wrestlers can transition easily to MMA. You can't say the same about most strikers.

  • look at Randleman dude. he's a wrestler but he's kinda crap as a fighter

  • or mark coleman

  • What???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You and this Joyfulvulture guy are delusional. What do you know about MMA? I got 2-0 in sherdog, perhaps it's not much, but what is yours..?

  • lol i didnt relise only fighters were aloud to post.

  • Oh really? lol, I didn't know that either, is it like a new rule or something? cool ;)

  • bahaha. 2-0. Come back when you actually have something to brag about.

  • Very funny huh... Don't disrespect a fighter unless you have something to back it up with. 2-0 in sherdog is 2-0. I have fighters on my team with better records if you want, and I have from almost all weight

  • Comment removed

  • Not saying you're bad, it's just I probably have you by 45 pounds, wouldn't be a fair fight.

  • My back-up is I would probably beat you.

  • i dont know man, look at todays ufc champs... bj penn has a base in jiu-jitsu, gsp has a base in kyokushin karate, anderson silva has a base in muy thai, machida has a base in shotokan karate, frank mir the interim champ was a kenpo karate practitioner for the earlier part of his life..... wrestling dominated ufc from about ufc 10 to ufc 40. Its not that way anymore

  • where are teh jabsss ffs

  • due grandi. un piacere guardarli.

  • where is this gym in roseville?

  • If you spare with the best then then you can fight at the top levels. And compete with the best

  • What match was Randy preparing for that's why he's using Rampage as his sparring partner?

  • Chuck. and the latter question should have an obvious answer.

  • Thanks for the info. By the way, there's only one question. There's no latter. cool. ^_^

  • what gym is this at I live in roseville

  • probably marinobles.

  • chuck still lost.

    and so did franklin(twice)

    and nogeira beat silva

so i think pride wins ;)

  • Chonan lost to Parisyan

Cro Cop to Gonzaga and Kongo

    Heath Herring to Jake O'Brien

    Jackson to Griffin

    David Bielkeden to Diego Sanchez

Shogun Rua lost to Forrest Griffin

Wanderlei Silva to Chuck and Tito

Renato Sobral(although no longer in UFC) defeated Shogun

The list goes on. For both organizations.

  • haha ur right suzukicrash1

  • stop spaming plz

  • the main difference in blocking in mma vs boxing is its about the glove size in boxing they hold there hands close to there face cause the gloves cover alot of surface area where as in mma you need to have your arms more extended like you have a basketball on your arm so you have time to block the shot before it reaches your face because of the smaller gloves. Gsp talks about this in one of his training videos.

  • I am amazed as to how many experts ther are watching you tube. Come on both these guys are champions, let's look in the mirror first, and maybe get off the net and into a gym before we start saying how effective certain techniques are.

  • Excellent post.

  • fucking amen..internet champions, fucking cunts

  • i love how people say they suck

    and all this shit

like would oyu fight him haha

are you were he is no

so i'd stop saying they suck and shit

    thats all i got say

  • amen i agree with u 100%

  • Not too mention that a lot of boxing techniques simply aren't effective in the MMA ring/octagon.

  • "It's a different sport dumb fuck": I thought MMA was a compendium of all the different martial arts and combat sports. Your quarterback analogy is simpleminded, and it is also wrong. Watch the stand up portion of a lot of MMA fights and you will see double hooks to the head and body, straight rights, slipping jabs and hooks, etc. Are you trying to argue that they are sparring like boxers with the idea of reinforcing horrible technique? I doubt it.

  • Boxing for MMA is different, bertinotti. I don't doubt that their technical skills are below those of a professional pure boxer, but some things that look like errors to boxers are alterations needed to compensate for the much greater variety of attacks the opponent can launch.

  • Well, i think the argument "Their technique sucks compared to proffesional boxers" is a lame argument.

THe problem is : There is alot of former proffesional boxers in mma.

Im not saying there are world class boxers in mma, but there are proffesional boxers.

There is however world class kickboxers in mma : Mark Hunt, Crocop etc.

  • All I'm trying to say to Bertinotti is that the things he sees as signs of Rampage and Couture's incompetence is mostly differences in stance and delivery that result from fighting people who can shoot for a takedown or toss a knee. I threw in a compliment for boxers because I was trying to do so in a friendly manner.

  • Thats true.

As you said, mma-boxing is alot different from regular boxing.

I was more pointing that towards bertinotti. :P

  • Whoops. That's what I get for skipping my morning coffee x_x

  • I agree...you have to block different for mma...in mma they dont fight with those big boxing gloves...i honestly enjoy the way rampage blocks...sure in boxing they would work his body blocking like that but for mma is a great way of blocking...

  • yea i think rampage blocks with some 52 blocks or muay thai, but i dont know that much muy thai so it might be that. look up 52 blocks though.

  • I dont know what 52 blocks is supposed to mean but what Rampage does is looks like Crazy Monkey Boxing, look it up. I'm a Thai boxer and I use crazy monkey all the time, it also translates into street fights and MMA pretty well because it dosent require large gloves.

  • These guys suck at boxing. If they were straight up boxers they would be nailed. Look at how they square up and throw sloppy left hooks to the body

  • they better at boxing than boxers are in mma or grappling...

  • how do u know u watch boxing? not saying ur wrong just cuz they look like they r good at boxing but i dont know much about boxing lol

  • It's a different sport dumb fuck. That's like accusing a quarterback of having a terrible freethrow.

BTW, They would last longer in a boxing ring than a boxer would last in an MMA match.

  • except rampage or couture could probably kick most boxers asses

  • Most MMA's train some boxing, but pretty much all of them train Muay Thai. Muay Thai is probably the most brutal and effective stand up art out there. Comparatively, Muay Thai fighters sometimes have slightly sloppier hands, though that's not the case in all situations. But despite this, they're still better strikers! They might lose in a boxing match, but in a striking match where they're allowed to utilize all of their strikes they'll win almost every time.

  • There is no such thing as most effective stanjd up. MT is great but so is Boxing cause it deals with what MT lacks and vice versa. Plus Liddell dominated for a while with his Kempo stance and Machidas with his Karate style mix with boxing is doing well. MT has flaws that can be exposed by Boxers like Belfort did to W. Silva just like MT fighters can take down Boxers with leg kicks. It is not about styles but how the fighter applies it.

  • Great points. Just to add In boxing their is a saying. Styles make fights.. Same applies here the style will have its weakness and only a skilled technician can expose its weakness. I great technical fighter is his art can not be beat, however cross training in other arts there will be a whole. Hence. MMA :)

Thats why we love MMA. Find a hole in a figheters game is not easy. but applying it WILL.

  • In MMA its actually very easy to find a hole in a fighters game.

  • Not all MMA fighters trained MT, alot do, bout now more and more are training in Boxing too. They are both the key stand up style of MMA along with Karate. GSP's primary style is Kyokushin Karate and now he has been showing more boxing. Couture and Rampage deals mainly with Boxing as well as Sherk Penn and the Emelianenko brothers. Anderson Silva is MT but also applies alot of boxing as a great set up for his MT.

  • I realize that a lot of fighters train both boxing and muay thai. GSP's style is heavily influenced by the Karate that he trained as a kid, but he trains purely Muay Thai and boxing now. In fact, he hasn't trained karate since he started training for MMA.

I don't think karate is all that big in MMA right now. Not to say that it's non-effective. The only real big names I can think of are GSP, Liddell, and Machida. And among those only Machida actively trains it.
