If you go into a subway and ask them to make you a sandwich how they were trained to do without telling them what you want on it, then you get the "art" so to speak. Yes u tell the worker what u want, then the worker makes it look nice and pretty, like a work of art, thats why theyre called sandwich artists. You just name the ingredients. Ingredients aren't the art. The art is the finished product done by the worker. So yes, it is legitimate to call the workers sandwich artists.

every sandwich has its own order of operation. If you go into a subway and ask them to make you a sandwich how they were trained to do without telling them what you want on it, then you get the "art" so to speak. But either way its a low paying job and those people put up with a lot of crap I know this because I used to work there. so picking on them isnt cool in my books....they have enough to deal with. Fast paced job and ignorant customers is quite enough. anyway thats my opinion..

Let's say, I told Person A to draw my girlfriend, and I'm going to make it a potrait for her birthday. So I give Person A a photo. I'm the one telling Person A what to do and all, but Person A is the one doing it, he's the one drawing, therefore he is the artist, not me. Therefore the person that gave the title sandwich artists is correct and you're wrong. It's like you're me, the subway emplyees is Person A, and the sandwich is my girlfriend.
