  • coolest. name. ever. (from a guy interested in photography of course..)

  • mind bokeh is one of the most profound albums i've ever heard from bibio him self too me it takes away depression i love his taste of music and his uses of different instruments

  • Um, wow.

I could easily see myself playing this all summer long.

  • Ahhhgggg! I feel so ambivalent about this album. I really dig the more subtle, back grounded elements of the tracks, but I just can't get into this throwback 70s / Jamiroquai horse shit that ends up dominating most tracks. "Pretentious" is a perfect example. The melody with dulcimer blows my mind; that is until the disco party arrives. The videos are fucking gorgeous, nevertheless.

  • @Kaniki80 basically you don't like black beat in your white wash?

  • @davyde Umm, do you know where the dulcimer was invented? Do you know that the mode of the dulcimer in this track is akin to modes often played in Persia, not Appalachia? Ah, I bet you do. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go rough up some farmers because I can't stand tomatoes.

  • @Kaniki80 doroste? dulcimer irani ast? nemidoonam... kheyli mamnoon agha e ETHNOMUSICOLOGIST.

  • It will rock!

  • I can't wait for this. Just one more day.

  • this album is gonna seriosuly hijack this year

  • bibios going all out , this is probobly going to be his best album yet.

  • anyone else thinks that 0:51 sounds like phoenix, and that 1:27 sounds like cut copy? or is it just me?

i'm totally buying the album though; that's for sure.

  • I'm disappointed that he's sticking with the more commercial sound of his last couple releases. I mean, it's okay, but I much prefer the style and atmosphere of the earlier stuff.

  • aaaaaaawesome! can´t wait till it comes out

  • I say let the artist explore. Anyone that loves folk should be able to appreciate where he's coming from; I doubt he's the type of person that'll ever lose touch with his roots. To hold back an artist from anything else is pure torture.

  • Oh my god, this sounds so goooooood.

  • wow feminine eye sound really good

  • What's happened here?

Bibio's first two albums were stunning... Whilst I see that musicians can't hold back and there's a need to move on... I just wish the old Bibio would come back. What happened those nostalgic guitar loops that took me to pastoral bliss?

  • @pixelfibre he's the artist you're not.

  • @t1mrhea - Yeah, well I'm still buying his albums and I still respect him. Just saying what I feel. No need to be a nob

  • I miss Bibi-old. there's a lot more of this in the world than vignetting.

  • 'ANYTHING NEW' IS ALREADY MY JAM AND I'VE ONLY HEARD IT FROM THIS SAMPLER!!!

  • I + Car + Girl + Night = 0:41

  • Take Off All Your Shirt!!!

  • @GnarIboro greeeeeeeeeeeg!

  • 1:29 and after=beautiful

(not to say that the whole video isn't however)

  • So many losers here who can't accept Bibio's evolution.

  • 0:41 wow, somth like "jealous of roses" ! like it )

  • I'm not sure if everyone is looking at this album the right way. If you look at Hand Cranked and Vignetting, you'll see really earthy, grounded melodies. Kind of bog-esque.

Just by looking at the name of this, it's pretty obvious you're getting nothing as genuine sounding from this album. It's gonna be much more electronic and not in the same vein.

    Open your eyes plz.

  • 1:31 I have to say is pretty boss.. one of those songs you could listen to for an hour and then realize that its been the same song playing all along and that it was amazing the whole time.. Infact, all of these songs are pretty dope. I like the wacky taste to it, i can still hear the 2009 beats in it too which is nice to know.

  • It's all about the track starting @0:41

  • continually evolving and growing as a musician and artist, Mind Bokeh makes Ambivalence Avenue sound like a transition album the more that I spin it.

  • Love the video too!

  • Ugh. Bleck. This is barely "just okay." Bring back the "Hand Cranked" days...

  • this album sucked realllllllyyy hard, bibio was a huge influence on me personally and to see him SELL THE FUCK OUT was crushing, the lyrics are depressingly stupid and the vocals and pretty much every thing on this album is out of tune with its self, i want the old bibio back not the lame take off your shirt bibio, like are you kidding me?!! is this a sick joke? there is so many half assed melodies on this record. vignetting the compost is a real record , ovals and emeralds is a real record

  • @lovespacewolfsword

Oh shut up you hipster faggot. He still sounds like Bibio. And if it sounds off key, it's on purpose. I imagine you're speaking about songs like Pretentious where towards the last half of the song it slows down a bit and the key switches about a half-step down. It's intentional. He didn't sell out. Perhaps he wanted to do something besides making folk-electronic instrumental music?

  • @lovespacewolfsword

let the man do his thing! not every radiohead album can be ok computer, not every beatles can be sargent pepp, not every incubus album can be morning view..... music is an evolving process, i completely agree with you, vignetting is by far my fav bibio album, but damn! let the man experiment and make the new godly funk that comes off this sampler!

  • K is for Kelson is SOOOOO GOOOD!!! It sounds like 70s african music

  • what a great album =)

  • 0:00 Mind Bokeh 0:09 Pretentious 0:25 Excuses 0:30 Anything New 0:41 Light Sleep 0:51 Take Off Your Shirt 1:01 Artists' Valley 1:12 K is for Kelson 1:21 Feminine Eye 1:27 Saint Christopher Now go forth and pre-order, dammit.
  • At 1:02 it sounds like he's saying, "and I told them to cock block"....

    haha

  • @rvcadystopia

    It strangely sounds like so.

  • @rvcadystopia He did.

  • is it wrong for me to already love the album and it hasnt been released? T_T

  • Comment removed

  • hmm.

I was hoping for a continuation of that guitar-based/electronic dynamic that MAKES Ambivalence Avenue for me, but i hear none of that here. I'm also a little bit concerned about what's going on at 0:51.

But Excuses is wonderful and i absolutely love that last beat. *is torn*

  • I love Bibio, but the graphic is a total damn ripoff of this: (you have to manually add the h t t p and w w w for it to work:

  • this is thee most anticipated album of the year for me. it sounds amazing. i love the funk-electronic fusion...its fresh.

  • Please stay underground Bibio! Please!!

  • Future music, love it.

  • :O

  • fuuuuckkk i can't wait to get this album :(

  • "Take Off Your Shirt" will be the beginning of his end.

  • 0:40c =0

  • Everything sounds awesome, but what's up with that Top 40 sounding track at 0:51?

  • Good stuff, especially the microtonal track at the beginning, the collapsing beat around 1:05, and the TOTALLY unexpected fourtet-esque pulse at 1:30

  • Sounds great. I can't remember the last time I was so excited for a new music release...

  • Fantastic stuff, but the 6th sample sounds way too much like Phoenix. Very excited for the release all the same.

  • Can't wait to go ride BMX with this music on my ear! I especially like the part at 1:11 ! :D This spring and summer will be awesome!

  • 1:22!

  • 1:27!! =)

  • oh God this albums going to be so chill. I NEED NOW!!!

  • Bibio, is a total balller.

  • WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BIBIO. AND WHY IS THIS NEW BIBIO IMPROVED IN EVERY WAY.

  • I am so unbelievably stoked for this. Bibio always seems to put out amazing material.

  • This whole album is going to be an auditory orgasm. I love all samples so far, but I think that some of them may even be radio friendly. And that scares and excites me at the same time.

  • Absolutely cannot wait for this album to drop.. a month and a half is waay too long.

  • @syzygywell True that my anticipation is getting rediculous, watched the video a slid 10 times today.

  • 1:22... woow

  • The first sample reminds me of "Vein of Stars" by The Flaming Lips, anyone agree?

  • @Brom24 Correction I meant the "Wizard turns on" by the Flaming Lips.

  • I already liked the album only with those samples.

  • Belive it or not, i am really excited about the first one. Yeah, that one. What? I like it. Alot!

  • i am going to sell all of my camels to buy this

  • Wow, big change in style for this album. Kinda better really, i wasn't into some of his melo stuff before. But yeah some of the poppy tracks are putting me off a bit. 0.51 sounds really familiar, sure i've heard it somewhere else before.

  • @Beatlicious91

I am willing to bet your thinking of "Phoenix - 1901"

  • @synthburn no they are similar, but it's the vocals from 0.51 - 0.55 that sounds mostly familiar. I'll probably never know!

  • @Beatlicious91 Sounds like Anthony Kiedis (lead singer of RHCP) to me.

  • 1:21 & 1:28 <3333

  • Can't wait to playing this in the car during a chill, nighttime drive.

  • This is pure genious!

  • man i want to hear a full track off of this already. this sampler is making me impatient.

  • kind of bummed on this... fi was amazing, ambivalence avenue was really good...

and now this... i have mixed feelings about so far.... especially 0:51...

  • <3 Warp, first I get into the label from the IDM heavyweights (Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Autechre, VS), then I discover that Flying Lotus is also on Warp, and then I see that Gonjasufi is also on Warp, and then from browsing the record label's site I find this :)

Damn, I need to listen to more artists on Warp!

  • i dont think i would really be that into this poppy-er vibe if the sounds werent still so perfect. but they are so im happy. stephen wilkinson knows how to record shit.

  • Schwarzkopf.

  • GAHH! I love Bibio! Some of the most fresh music coming out today. I truly love all of the songs on this sampler but I cannot wait to hear the one at 0:31. I think that's what the great appeal of Bibio is. All of his songs hit different genres yet they mold together surprisingly well.

  • I find this a big deal in that Warp Record sophomore releases are some of the best albums in their catalog. Ambivalence Avenue was magical.

  • this is musical genius

  • I need to grab that jank at :31!!

  • Bibio is gonna blow up after this. I can't believe how good this stuff sounds.

  • @turntabletiger i doubt it. people hate good music nowadays

  • gettgin those bibio-lissful feelings at 1.12 - sounds like the bibio-best album yet to me (unless all the tracks are just a few seconds long of course)

  • awesome!!!

  • I like what i'm hearing at 0:16

  • The one that starts at 50s will be popular. Probably going to hear it in adverts.

  • very very

  • le-le-le-le-le-le-le-le-le-le-le-let the bass kick

  • I couldn't really get into Ambivalence as a whole, but this sounds really promising

  • can't wait to listen to mind Bokeh!!!!!!

it sounds so pop and dreamy at the same time

  • 0:08 is microtonal. I wish more people made microtonal music.

  • @thegmanyo Isn't...like...all of gamelan music microtonal? Gamelan sounds just like that part you're talking about .... 0:08 . I love it too.

Gamelan is a type of musical ensemble practiced mostly in Indonesia, Bali, and Java. search it

  • This new stuff is great! But does anyone miss the old Hand Cranked, Vignetting The Compost Bibio? I do.

  • @neonservice His music now is so different from his early stuff, it's like he's a completely different artist! Which isn't bad; he's evolving! But I really do miss the old Bibio sometimes.

  • The whole album will be the OST of my love-making sessions.

  • @karvel 0:42 is some serious bow chicka wow wow

  • HOLY FUCK IT SOUNDS SO GOOD I CANNOT WAIT I'M SHITTING

  • @superrrhymes lol

  • eh, i love some of bibio's remixes very very much, after remix for dm stith, which is i think his best song, i expected something more personal... this is just funky soulpop with nice vintage sound, same as crystal castles is boring electropop with vintage sound. i'm very dissapointed, it is not that i don't like pop, i love pop same as avantgarde, noise, dubstep, acid or whatever... ./

probably nobody is interested what i think, but i had a claim to share this with world for some reason. .)

  • @ConsumeAir ...last song sounds nice...

  • I'm drooling for the track at 0:30, super cool and funky! And yeah, 0:50 and 1:26 sound exactly like Phoenix and Gold Panda... but at their best! ;)

  • There's going to be so many amazing remixes of 0:51, whether it sounds like Phoenix or not. My favorite thing about Bibio is that he's not afraid to branch out and touch on every style of music that he feels like, so what if it's pop? Also does 1:28 remind anyone else of Gold Panda's most recent album? I'd love for them to do a collaboration sometime...

  • the opener "Excuses" sounds similar to "Cherryade" by Letherette, though Cherryade sounds like a Bibio song to begin with and possibly contains samples from Bibio`s work

  • I think the second song sounds the best, actually (at 0:09).

I'd pre-order this, except Bibio has this annoying habit of making songs that sound cool for 30 seconds but don't really go anywhere, so I think I'll listen once or twice before I buy. The sampler sounds awesome though; I can't wait!

  • is it possible to pre-order it?

  • @msalami1 yep, go to warp records website, and they should have a link to pre-order it.

  • oh wow i'm hyped for this!

  • wow. addicted.

    cant wait.

  • So awesome.

  • 0:51- Phoenix.

If Bibio could move in one of the many divergent directions he explored on AA, it should be some combination of Jealous of Roses and the bridges on the title track and Lover's Carvings. Sounds like that's what he's doing. I'm most excited about the tracks at 1:21 and the one following.

  • @fufula

relax bud. its gonna be alrite.

  • @fufula I think you replied to the wrong person.

  • What is the song at 0:53?

  • @AmazingShortbus Take of your shirt.

  • i dont want to listen to anything else

  • 0:51 generic pop music....

    rest sounds great.

  • so excited! can already tell it will be in my top 10 of the year ;)

  • Thinking he couldn't top the last album may have been underestimating his clearly rediculous talent.

  • Sounds good. I hope he still has some folky tracks on it though

  • 0:51 want to hear this in clubs after the release.

  • 0:51 in before commercial success.

  • 1:11 Ahhhh I am soo excited! I just watched this three times in a row!

  • Atombomb album!

  • AHHHHHHHH! I can hardly contain myself!

  • 0:30 Oh my days!

  • Love Warp, and I love this.

  • i think this is gonna be as good or maybe even better then Ambivalence Avenue.

there just seems to be more color on this album.

  • 0:41 and 1:21.

  • I can't stop listening to this.

  • A interesting new discovery for me, should I take a chance and buy this album?

  • Oh man so excited for this. Already preordered the CD and vinyl

  • Bibio you are fkng awesome!!!!!!

  • 1:12 classic

  • FUCK YES
