Hey you did very well on that performance. I like the control in your tone and the volume was there. The only problem I had with it was that it was too plain. I don't know if that's how it was played in the recording but just from hearing you I know that you could do a lot more with the song than what you just gave yourself credit for. Just take a leap of faith and don't be afraid to try new things and deviate from the recording because it's what will set you apart from others. Be blessed

@jjcantu86 Yes, indeed it was too plain... too boring, he should have been more into it and shown that musically with his trumpet. I'm also a trumpet player you can check out "My Tribute" that I've done many times, for example.

I commented a while back, well here's an update. I still can't pick-up on the sectionafter the bridge, but I am working on it. Now I can, on a good day, hit a Double G (2 G's above the staff).

I've done a few by Phil Driscoll but most of them I have done with a vocal sound track and just figured out the music by ear. The only other one that I've used is a book with accompianment cd called

"Let Heavan and Nature SWING". I want to do concerts but am just getting started in the industry so. . . we will see what happens.

Thank you for your response, Do you do concerts yourself or just play in church? Where else do you purchase christian songs with sheet music. I was wondering if you could help me with some ideas of where to purchase more trax with sheet music as im not the best at playing all by ear. I have alot of David Oneill trax and phil Driscoll. Any help will be GREAT!!

Well, honestly, I can hardly hit a D above the staff, so yeah. Working on my long tones. The best part of this video si seeing you really worship when you play. That's amazing!

I've got about half the song down by ear and looking at your fingers, and it sounds identical, now for the part after the bridge, but I'll get it :D

Good stuff.. for your 1st time performing a solo at your church you sure knocked it out... while watching, I thought you wouldn't play a higher note above C but you sure proved me wrong towards the end. PRAISE THE LORD!!!
